The beautiful brunette plays Abby, mother of Clarke (played by Eliza Taylor) and the authoritative chief medical officer of The Ark space station.

Although the series has just started, Paige as Abby has appeared in several scenes wearing an array of edgy side braids.  Her signature hairstyle on The 100 is a sassy tousled three strand side braid.

Paige Turco Braids How To

A combination of the right styling product cocktail with the proper amount and type of heat is utilized to create Paige Turco's sassy three strand side braid.

Paige's side braid can be easily created on hair which is shoulder length or longer.

While the braid can work for all hair types and textures, it may not be ideal for hair which is naturally textured, very thick, thin or very fine.

If hair is naturally textured, it may be best to temporarily straighten hair before styling. Fusion or clip-in extensions can be utilized to add thickness to fine or thin strands.

Step By Step Styling Instructions

To copy the side braid follow the steps listed below:

1.  Start with second or third day hair which gives braids more grip and staying power. If you prefer to create the style on newly washed hair, be sure to prep hair properly with {{asin=B00BAXVIZW,text=styling cream}}, gel or mousse.

Spending styling time and energy on creating the proper texture and volume will ensure Paige's hairstyle will last all day settling to look even better as shooting continues.

2.  Use a {{asin=B0090LHLHU,text=boar bristle brush}} and lift up individual 2" sections of hair around the side and the crown.  Back brush to create fullness and life.  After creating the desired texture, use fingers to lightly smooth down the strands.

3.  Create a side part with fingers and a long tail comb.

4.  Use a brush or fingers to direct hair across the head to one side.

5.  Starting behind the ear, separate hair into three individual strands approximately the same thickness.

6.  Create a traditional three strand English or Dutch braid.  Plait the hair until all of the hair has been used.

7.  Secure the newly created braid at the bottom with a hair-friendly {{asin=B00021E5XU,text=elastic band}} either in the same color of your hair or in a contrasting color.

8.  Use a brush or comb to smooth the end of the braid.

9.  Apply 1 drop of {{asin=B000NYL3NQ,text=shine serum}} or spritz a tiny amount of shine spray into the palms of your hands.  Massage together.  Lightly brush the palms of your hands along the length of the braid to smooth loose hair and add natural shine.

For a more tousled look, spread your fingers through the braid's plaits and gently loosen the sections.  Pull a few strands out around the edges of the face to give a sassy finish.
