Audra McDonalds Hair: Classic Curls

If you're a fan of ABC's Private Practice you're acquainted with Dr. Naomi Bennett, brilliantly played by actress Audra McDonald, who is the co-founder of Oceanside Wellness Centre.

Naomi, known as Nay by her close friends is the ex-wife of Dr. Sam Bennett, Dr. Addison Montgomery's current love interest. Yes, it's complicated since Addison and Naomi have been best friends for many years.

Over the past several episodes Naomi has been noticeably absent from the majority of the storylines. Did she leave the show? Not exactly. It seems that Audra is a major talent in great demand on the stage.

Indeed, Audra has won four Tony Award statues of which three were before she even turned 30.   The actress is often compared to legendary performers like Judy Garland and Barbra Streisand due to her classically-trained luscious soprano voice. She is also admired for her dramatic storytelling.

Audra is a beloved concert and recording artist who appears regularly on may of the most famous stages around the world including the Boston Symphony, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, New York Philharmonic, Philadelphia Orchestra and the San Francisco Symphony. She's also a regular performer at London's BBC Proms, the London Symphony Orchestra and the Berlin Philharmonic. Audra recently made her debut in Paris at the TMP/Chatelet.

Besides her amazing voice Audra has classic curls which she wears in a wide variety of styles from tightly curled coils and ringlets to loose barrel style curls woven throughout the perimeter.

On Private Practice Audra has worn her hair more sleek and less curly. As Dr. Bennett she alternates between wearing her hair up in a series of professional chignons and twists to pulled back in a soft low pony or loosely cascading down around her shoulders.

Many fans of the show might be surprised to discover just how spectacular Audra's natural curls really are.

Not only is she beautiful, a major singing and acting talent she also has fabulous natural curls to boot. Some people have all the luck.

Daily Hair Tip
To protect against potential heat damage to your hair, always use a blow drier on the coolest setting and make sure to apply a good leave in conditioner that will protect the hair shaft from the dryer.
