Marc Cherry of Desperate Housewives Signs For 8th & 9th Seasons Of Show

It was announced in the media recently that Marc Cherry, creator of Desperate Housewives, has signed a deal which keeps him involved with the ABC hit show for several more seasons.

The Housewives are currently in their 6th season which means ABC is planning for Desperate Housewives to run for at least three more seasons.

The key actors and actresses attached to the show have been rumored to have contracts lasting until 2011.  With the new agreement with Marc Cherry, the show could last until 2013 or beyond.

But will it?  Anything is possible and the show continues to do exceptionally well, even after being on the show for some time.  Desperate Housewives is one ABC's best shows.  It is currently the top program in its time slot and has been at the top for the first 5 weeks of the season. The show is also a top-selling DVD franchise all over the world.

When the show started to sag in the past Marc Cherry and the Housewives writers rewrote the show to take it ahead in time five years.  By doing so, the show eliminated the current children.  However, Julie, the daughter of Teri Hatcher was written back in for the current Fall 2009 Season.

Somethings are still working well on the show after all these years, including the long standing romance between Mike and Susan Meyer.

Only time and the Desperate Housewife writers will tell whether the show will survive for several more years.

It also announced that Marc's top lieutenant for Desperate Housewives, Bob Daily, will remain on the show through the eight and ninth years.

Bob Daily will continue to take a more active role in running the show since besides his ongoing deal with Desperate Housewives Marc Cherry will be working on developing new projects for ABC.    If one of Marc Cherry's new projects go to series, ABC noted that Daily's role would be "critical" in keeping day-to-day operations at "Housewives" running smoothly.

Nice to know that someone will be tending to the series if Marc Cherry goes off on other deals for ABC.

Daily Hair Tip
For a low maintenance style, try to work with your natural hair type rather than against it. For example, if your hair is naturally wavy, select a hairstyle that works easily with the waves.
