Sex and The City 2 (SATC) is the highly anticipated second film from the HBO original series.

Although there were initial concerns the SATC show could be translated into a movie, it ultimately proved to be a non-issue. The first SATC movie was wildly successful from the financial aspects of filmaking, raking in hundreds of millions of dollars and spawning all kinds of merchandising deals.

The great financial success of the first film paved the way for the second movie which is scheduled to be released May 28, 2010.

Afterall, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis, Kim Catrell and Cynthia Nixon all realize a great opportunity for lucrative paychecks when it appears.

A large portion of the movie was shot in New York City and diligent paparazzi managed to capture shots of the four main character

Ideal Hair For Creating Hairstyle

The style is easiest to create on tresses which are naturally straight and medium in thickness.

If you have your heart set on copying this style it can still be copied on naturally wavy or curly strands if the hair is first temporarily straightened. On fine or thin tresses clip-in hair extensions can help add the fullness at the crown.

Why Hairstyle Is So Glam

What makes this hairstyle so glam? It is simple but incredibly elegant and built off the winning hair formula of combing fine lines with lush volume from the hairline to the crown, sleek pulled back sides and a simple twist of the back of the hair pulled into a side bun with an open end forming a curl.

The image of the gorgeous hairstyle to the side was created with great precision and expertise by Richard St. Laurent of Montreal Quebec. Richard was a finalist in the North American Hairstyling Awards (NAHA) for the Hairstylist Of The Year.

Although Richard's creation appears to be quite complicated, it can actually be copied on most hair which is shoulder length or longer. When natural hair is short or medium in length, the style can be recreated with the addition of appropriately placed clip-in hair strands.

Steps To Re-Create This Hairstyle

Complete the following steps listed below to copy and flaunt her hairstyle:

Step 1: Shampoo and condition your hair with your normal products designed for your current hair type, texture and condition.

Step 2: Towel blot strands. Do not rub wet hair which is more fragile and can break. Detangle strands from the ends to the roots.

Step 3: Apply your favorite texture enhancing mousse or styling cream. Distribute from the top of the ears to the ends. Distribute well. If you prefer, mix with a good leave-in conditioner for super shine and softness.

To protect against blow drying heat and add body, distribute a leave-in conditioner, mousse or gel from the top of the ears to the ends. Distribute well. For lots of lush volume along the roots apply a volume enhancement product throughout the roots.

Step 4: Blow dry tresses stick straight with a paddle or round boar's bristle brush. To achieve perfect straightness separate hair into 2" sections before beginning to blow dry.

Step 5: When hair is completely dry separate into 2" sections and roll with large sized hot rollers to create volume and body. Let rollers completely cool in the hair.

Step 6: Remove rollers and brush all hair up and off the hairline. Smooth the sides back with it positioned up and over the ears. For added volume lightly backcomb hair from hairline to the crown. Smooth hair back as if creating a pony positioned near the base of the neck at the nape.

Step 7: Capture all the hair near the ends like you are going to create a ponytail and hold in place with the thumb and forefinger of your right hand.

Direct the hair you are holding like a pony towards the left side of your head behind the left ear. Roll the hair into a large pin curl formation.

Play with the curl until you have created the desired curl profile. Tuck the curl behind the ear and slightly nudged under the rest of the hair at the back. Use bobby pins the same color as your hair and pin securely into place.

Optionally you may wish to pull one single strand out from the rest of the curl and loop over the top of the curl.

Step 8: Spray the finished style with a strong holding hairspray. Hairspray to try: PhytoPro - Instant Hold Spray #15).

Step 9: Apply a tiny drop of shine serum, drops or spray into the palms of your hands. Lightly brush the palms over the top of your style and you are ready to rock. Shine products to try: Phyto - PhytoLisse (Formerly Phytodefrisant RelaxSerum)

If you'd like, add a gorgeous jeweled or crystal barrette, bobby pin or clip above the top of the curl. While bangs are optional, this style looks especially glam without a forehead fringe.

This gorgeous hairstyle is not difficult to do once you have practiced a few times. After you have experimented with creating the side curl chignon you will be able to recreate it faster each time.

If you are planning on wearing a one-shoulder gown position the curl on the side with the bare shoulder rather than on the side with the shoulder.

Even better, this hairstyle can be re-created by first braiding the pony section before rolling it into the big curl. For a more sophisticated style be sure to back comb the hair for lost volume.

Daily Hair Tip
To protect against potential heat damage to your hair, always use a blow drier on the coolest setting and make sure to apply a good leave in conditioner that will protect the hair shaft from the dryer.
