There's no question Michelle Rodriguez will not be prevented from accomplishing her goals and reaching for her dreams.

Michelle recently struck Hollywood gold when her luck changed and she was cast in the blockbuster movie, 'Avatar' as a helicopter pilot.

The outspoken actress was recently a guest on The Bonnie Hunt Show following right behind 'Avatar' director James Cameron who told Bonnie "Michelle is a trip" which he implied in a good way.

Indeed, Michelle and Bonnie had a fun filled conversation with the two women bantering and teasing about unfortunate microphone slippage in the 'Avatar" co-star's clothing.

Michelle addressed common misconceptions about her as both an actress and private person and discussed working with James Cameron on the blockbuster special effect film.

One thing is pretty clear, Michelle has rich long hair which she spices up for Red Carpet events by changing up the texture from sleek and straight to undulating ripples of soft waves.

Michelle appeared at the Los Angeles Premiere of 'Avatar' wearing her long raven locks spun into soft waves. Her forehead fringe extended slightly below her eyebrows highlighting her dark eyes. A few days later she appeared at a special ceremony honoring Director Cameron with her dark tresses worn stick straight and framing her face.

Hairstyle: Soft, Sassy, Long, Well Formed S Shape Waves

One ongoing question about Michelle or any Hollywood star is whether or not they utilize any type of wigs or add-on hair for various hairstyles. Looking closely at Michelle's photo above it doesn't appear obvious she had add-on strands, but with the options available in today's add-on hair market it's often hard to tell. If I had to guess I might say there has been hair added to increase Michelle's volume but only her celebrity hairdresser knows for sure.

Hairstyle Color: Multi-dimensional Raven Black

Hairstyle Highlights/Lowlights: If you look closely you will see what appears to be a hint of Merlot or Plum lowlights which give Michelle's hair spectacular depth and movement.

Texture: Michelle Rodriguez appears to have medium to medium thick hair in excellent shape with either natural bend or natural waves.

For the Red Carpet her hair is usually styled with lots of body and some volume built in around the crown. For less formal events she generally wears her hair straight with a slight hint of bend or waves, especially near the nape of her neck in back.

Fringe: Michelle Rodriguez's long lush wavy hairstyle was coupled with a long uneven fringe cascading from a barely there center part a few inches from her hairline.

Her fringe is textured to give it uneven lengths and has strategically placed separation throughout to give a more edgy and interesting frame for her eyebrows and eyes.

Face Shape: Michelle's face shape is a blend of oval and square. She has well defined cheekbones which slope into a squared off jaw with a slightly rounded chin.

Hairstyle Works Best: Michelle's hairstyle works best for hair which is shoulder length or longer which is all one length or with very subtle layers.

The best texture for recreating this hairstyle is hair with some bend, natural waves or light curls. It can be copied with or without a fringe.

Hair Tools Required: Large barrel curling iron or hot rollers, 100% boar bristle brush, long tail comb, bobby pins, styling spray and/or cream, sculpting hairspray, shine spray and/or serum drops.

To add strategically placed volume, fullness and length you may wish to play with clip-in hair extensions.

How To Recreate Michelle Rodriguez's Wavy Hairstyle

Michelle Rodriguez wears her tresses in hairstyles which work with the event she is attending while complementing her face shape and fashions.

To copy Michelle Rodriguez's slightly wavy hairstyle follow the simple steps listed below:

1. Start with either freshly cleansed and completely dry hair or with day old hair with a cream or spray designed to help with the creation of soft hair waves.

Note: If you shampoo your hair before styling be sure to use products for your hair type (fine/thin, medium, thick, very thick), texture (straight, wavy, curly, kinky) and current condition (normal, damaged, extremely damaged).

2. If you wish to copy Michelle Rodriguez's look completely, create a center part extending a few inches back from the hairline using a long tail comb. If you prefer, you can copy Michelle 's hairstyle without a fringe or center part although it will not look exactly the same.

3. Use a 100% boar bristle brush or similar and separate remaining hair into two-inch sections. Clip all remaining hair out of the way.

4. On each section, spritz styling spray or apply cream, starting approximately 1-2" below the root area.

After prepping hair with spray or similar, wrap around a large barrel curling iron (or large hot rollers) for a few seconds to avoid burning or damaging strands. Michelle 's hairdresser says "hold the iron until you feel the heat coming off of the hair."

5. After creating the hot curls and removing the iron, re-roll curl around fingers to recreate the curl. Pin to the scalp.

6. When all the sections of hair have been completely ironed, reformed and pinned, spritz the entire head lightly with a setting or styling spray.

7. When hair is completely dry and cool, unpin each curl.

8. Separate a 2-4 inch section of hair, depending on your preferences, from the right side part off the hairline. Lift the section and backcomb it with a brush or comb to the desired height.

Spray well and then smooth back and over to the opposite side of the head from the part.

9. Rake through the remaining hair with your fingers to arrange hair into sexy waves just like Michelle is wearing on The Red Carpet above.

10. For Michelle Rodriguez's brilliant shine add a few drops of shine serum, spray or shine enhancing hairspray to the palms of your hands and then wipe lightly over the top of your tresses.

Note: If the waves are too well formed use a 100% boar bristle brush to break up the waves a bit and make them softer. Remember the smaller the curling iron barrel, the tighter the resulting curls and waves.

This hairstyle is gorgeous and can be worn for any Holiday or Party Hair event ranging from a formal or semi-formal dinner or a special formal dance or Prom.

This is a classic hairstyle which never goes out of style. To amp up the look even more add a bejewelled hairpin clip on one side of the hairline or slide or a jeweled headband.

Summary

Michelle Rodriguez told Bonnie Hunt during her recent visit "you could keep knocking me down forever and I’ll keep getting up and trying again.” What was she referring to? Some of the ups and downs in her career.

However, there is no doubt that Michelle is determined to make her dreams come true and you can bet she will. In the meantime to catch Michelle's latest performance check out 'Avatar'.
