Hair Snippets: Devon Aoki Loose Wavy Hairstyle

Devon Aoki

Although the famous model has been known to wear her honey streaked soft brunette strands sleekly pin straight, her hair also has natural waves which peek seductively through the underside of her luscious super shiny locks.

Devon recently made waves on several Red Carpet events. On May 4th she appeared at Designer Charlotte Ronson's Spring Cocktail Party held at Milk Studios in conjunction with JC Penny.

Hair Style:

At the event the beautiful actress, model and celebrity personality wisely wore her tresses cascading from an off-center part.

One side of her tresses were directed to one side of her face with a sleek side-swept fringe which seamlessly merged into the rest of her long strands.

The other side was loosely brushed off her face and tucked seductively behind one ear.

Devon's hair texture matched the theme of her sleeveless scooped top. It also helped to provide balance to her unique face shape which consists of a combination of heart and triangle shapes which ends in a delicately pointed chin.

The soft flowing hairstyle also plays up her unforgettably gorgeous eyes and lips which help to balance her unique face shape. Long flowing locks are a great style choice for Devon.

This hairstyle works on all levels from hair length, color, style, face shape and flow.

Hair Secrets:

The soft barely-there long wavy hairstyle worked in perfect harmony with Devon's perfectly appointed soft caramel highlights and milky chocolate lowlights.

Although the front of her hairstyle was draped off either side of her face, subtle height was built-in throughout the crown area to provide a soft but elegant shape which balanced the perimeter waves throughout the length.

While the style is very slightly tousled, it has a well-defined shape, texture, flow, shine and overall finish.

Devon's hairstyle might look easy but with all the gorgeous highlights, lowlights and megawatt shimmer, you know Devon had all the right hair care products in her bag of hair tricks.

Quick Hairstyling Tips:

Devo's hair style is ideal for shoulder length or longer tresses medium in thickness with some natural waves, curl or bend.

It's best achieved on freshly cleansed hair properly prepped with styling products to give the hair appropriate workability.

Cleanse hair with products to amp up highlights and lowlights.

Add rinse-out conditioner and final cold water rinse. Rake leave-in conditioning and styling cocktail through strands.

Note: If your hair is prone to frizzing apply a defrisant product or mix with your other styling products. Many celebrities are big fans of Phytodefrisant.

Dry with a long finger diffuser and/or fingers to create the tousled separation.

Finish hair styling process with light holding spray. Swipe with light shine serum to capture random fly-a-ways and add shimmer.

The key to the beauty of this simply yet sexy hair is the amazing shine which captures the eye.

Hairstyling Notes & Options

When hair is 100% dry use an iron to amp up waves throughout the perimeter. If you prefer, hot rollers can be utilized instead. The key to this look is barely there waves with shine so tread lightly with added texture throughout the ends.

Daily Hair Tip
Hair at the nape of the neck often misbehaves because it is where finer baby hair grows. Harness baby locks w/ faux-jeweled claw clips or smooth on your favorite hair paste or wax to hold fragile strands in place.
