Eliza Dushku & Her Tru Calling

Just when I was convinced that I had seen the last of the Eliza Dushku from Fox/TV's Tru Calling, I received word that the second season will kick off with a juicy two hour special on Thursday, March 31st from 8:00 - 10:00 PM ET/PT. If you didn't catch the first season, there's still time to get hooked. Although the former Vampire Slayer from Buffy days is no longer fighting blood sucking vamps, she is still wrestling with the lives of dead people. In fact, the lovely brunette Tru Davies (Eliza Dushku) has completely thrown herself into her new duties saving newly deceased people by working in the city morgue.

Shortly after signing in her new career, Tru was shocked to discover that some of the dead bodies could speak to her. Not only could they talk to her, they could basically throw her life into chaos as she tries to prevent their untimely demise. Talk about not having a love life. Try explaining to your significant other that you have to jet off to save someone who is about to dye from passing on.

Are you confused? Never fear, the two hour premiere will recap the first season and will offer a peek into the latest season that includes the deadly deeds of hunky Jack Harper. Jason Priestley who left his Beverly Hills 90210 neighborhood to hang out at the morgue with Tru for the final seven episodes of season one, plays the dark and mysterious Harper.

Unfortunately, it seems that Harper has a mission to guarantee that all the folks that ask Tru to turn back the clocks and prevent their deaths are ultimately foiled. As good (Tru Davies) and evil (Jack Harper) square off to battle over dead people, the stakes escalate bringing in Tru's brother Harrison, played by Shawn Reaves and her father (Cotter Smith). As shocking deaths play out, Tru's father and his evil motives are brought into the plot, which will also be uncovered during the second season.

For comic relief Davis (Zach Galifianakis), the quirky morgue staffer and Tru's boss, continues to support Tru on her missions to save lives.

In season one's finale, Tru and Jack found themselves on a collision course with the stakes as high as they could be after the body of Tru's brother, Harrison (Shawn Reaves), asked for help. As an epic battle for life and death between Tru and Jack began, Tru's attempts to save Harrison led to the shocking death of her own on-again, off-again boyfriend.

Season two begins with the battle still raging. Tru's father moves to the city so that he can work with Jack and they can maintain their alliance without Tru's knowledge.

If you loved Eliza Dushku in Buffy or adored Jason Priestley, you will be thrilled with their interactions. Even if you are not particularly a fan of either one, the premise of the show if interesting and definitely offers a lot of spooky, supernatural happenings. Sort of a Buffy meets the X Files in the Outer Limits. Don't miss it.

Daily Hair Tip
To combat cowlicks apply pomade or setting gel to the spot & blow dry w/ nozzle aimed downwards. Longer hair helps weigh down cowlicks as will tiny barrettes or clips. Pulling hair into a ponytail or braids will tighten down the cowlick. Experiment until you get results.
