Support Hair Peace On November 12th

Esthetics Salon and Spa, located at 402 Beaver St in Sewickley, PA,  is hosting a fundraiser for Hair Peace Charities from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. today, Saturday, November 12th.

A number of regular services at Esthetics will be done for donation only. All the money collected from these services will go to Hair Peace Charities and the many women they support in their fight against cancer.

Esthetics’ new downstairs neighbor, East Coast Sandwiches, will be providing a free lunch to those generous souls who donate to Hair Peace. There will also be live music by Blue Sky & Sunshine and Chinese auction items on display throughout the establishment.

What Is Hair Peace Charities?

Hair Peace Charities aids women fighting cancer in the Pittsburgh area and was founded by Bonny Diver-Hall, herself a breast cancer survivor. Cancer will affect one in four women and treatment is emotionally, physically and financially exhausting.

A common side effect of chemotherapy is the loss of one’s hair and 4 out of 5 insurance companies do not will not in anyway assist in the cost of purchasing a wig to wear during the course of chemo.

Hair Peace Charities believes these women deserve to take on this battle with confidence and a sense of normalcy, and they help by providing funds to assist patients in need to purchase wigs.

The average wig costs approximately $300, and Hair Peace aids with this cost by providing $150 towards the purchase of a wig to any woman or girl in need.

Honoring A Friend

Lisa McCormack, who will be donating chair massage services this Saturday, and Esthetics owner Ann Kukucka became acquainted through their mutual friend, Pat McGuire, who passed away from cancer in January of this year.

“Pat was a courageous woman and trusted confidant. Ann and I witnessed her struggle through her illness and treatment. Pat dealt with her condition with grace and humor and Ann and I wanted to honor her memory through this fundraiser,” McCormack said.

If you don't have an appointment, but would like to donate, call the salon at 412-741-0446 or visit www.hairpeace.org
