Finn Hudson - Varsity Football Player & Glee Club Member

For his role as varsity football player Finn Hudson who who joins the Glee Club he wears his hair cut into short layers with carefully constructed texture. His Glee haircut combines a perfect ratio of height along the crown, shorter clipped sides and defined texture throughout.

On May 11th he appeared on Ellen and his hair was longer than he normally wears it on Glee.  Not only was it longer, it was worn very curly, indicating he has natural curls.

You might not know Cory has natural curly strands from his Glee hair cut which is worn short with his natural texture cut in a manner so that the curls and waves nestle together into well mannered clumps.

Cory Monteith Going Gray?

Although he just turned 28, Cory was teased by AccessHollywood.com's Laura Saltman about the appearance of gray strands sprinkled throughout Cory's chocolate brown curls.

Cory laughed off Laura's comments and pointed out that his appearance on the Red Carpet with his natural hair was definitely different then appearing all made up on camera for Glee.  Translation?  No problem.

Although Laura pointed out Cory plays someone in high school, where gray hair might not work, it's not uncommon for people to start getting gray strands as early as their teens.

Cory Monteith's Hairstyle Design

Cory's hairstyle is a perfect design for the role he plays as a football player who is opening to his musical and creative sides.  As a jock, he would most likely wear his hair shorter than longer even utilizing clippers along the sides for a well-defined shape.

The cut can be easily styled with a soft pliable moisturizing cream, gel or paste.  If added texture is desired a wax could be utilized throughout the perimeter.

Because Cory is filming Glee, it is likely the on-set hairdresser utilizes some form of temporary color to minimize gray.  It is also likely that matte styling products are used to avoid catching undesirable lights during filming.

Cory Monteith's Natural Curls

When Cory's not filming he lets his natural curls grow out fuller which is a good look for him as well.  Remember that when the hair is naturally curly it requires extra moisturizing during the washing and styling cycles to give curls definition, movement and great bounce.
