Reese Witherspoon Holiday Hairstyle: Sexy Waves

Although Reese Witherspoon look stunning in a romantic retro hairstyle with soft waves at the World Premiere of 'Four Christmases' at Grauman's Chinese Theater on December 11, 2008, she instantly grew her hair longer.

Whether she utilized add-on "instant length" or grew her hair out, Reese appeared in March of 2009 with a full layered forehead fringe and much longer strands  In fact, her perfectly highlighted blonde hair fell in soft waves which extended a few inches below her shoulders.

Even though Reese didn't keep her Veronica Lake inspired Red Carpet hairstyle, she did set off a copycat frenzy with other celebs and consumers who wanted to steal her stunning romantic style.

Of course the primary requirement for copying Reese's romantic retro waves is a haircut which allows for easy creation of the style.

For her original December 2008 hairdo Reese wore her hair cut slightly below her chin and with slight layering, especially around the face, to allow for the S shaped curves on either side of her hairline.  The top of the hair nearest the hairline was brushed up and over into a cheekbone brushing curve.

How To Recreate Reese Witherspoons Romantic Wavy Hairstyle

1.  Start with either freshy cleansed completely dry hair or with day old hair with a cream or spray compatible designed to help with the creation of hair waves.

2.  Separate hair into two-inch sections.  Clip all hair other hair out of the way.

3.  On each section, spritz spray or apply cream, starting just below the root area.  After prepping hair with spray or similar, wrap around a medium barrel curling iron for a few seconds to avoid burning or damaging strands.

4.  After creating the curl and removing the iron, re-roll curl around fingers to recreate the curl.  Pin to the scalp.

5.  When all the sections of hair have been completely ironed, reformed and pinned, spritz the entire head lightly with a setting or styling spray.

6.  When hair is completely dry and cool, unpin each curl.  Comb through the curls with your fingers.  Use fingers to arrange hair into sexy waves.

Note: If the waves are too well formed use a 100% boar bristle brush to break up the waves a bit and make them softer.  Remember that the smaller the curling iron barrel, the tighter the resulting curls and waves.

This hairstyle is gorgeous and can be worn for any Holiday or Party Hair event ranging from a formal or semi-formal dinner or a special formal dance or Prom.  This is a classic hairstyle which never goes out of style.    To amp up the look even more add a bejewelled headband or a small clip on one side of the head.

This is a stunning hairstyle guaranteed to turn heads.
