Francis Kurkdjian Is One Of Greatest Living Perfumers

Francis Kurkdjian is known among the small world of fragrance aficionados as one of the greatest living perfumers.

These experiences earned him a number of industry awards, such as Winner of the Francois Coty Perfumer Award for the collective body of his creative work in June 2001, Cosmetique Magazine's best perfumer of the year in 2008 and Named Chevalier of Arts and Letters in July 2008.  Kurkdjian has been deemed "Paris' most daring young nose."

Kurkdjian challenges the status quo in the fragrance world, creating break-through concepts that change the way we experience scent.   His news-making collaborations and conceptual projects -- including scenting of the fountains of Versailles -- have been recognized by the art and fashion worlds as a new genre of creative expression.

Francis also sees clients by appointment to create tailor-made fragrances. He opens his magic box kit of over 200 ingredients to create a truly (secret) signature formula for each individual client, without ever revealing it to anyone else.

After years of conjuring up top-selling perfumes, he now launches Maison Francis Kurkdjian, his own fragrance house. A new boutique, located on rue d'Alger near Place Vendome in Paris, will offer Francis's first edition of cologne, eau de toilettes, eau de parfum, candles, interior perfumes, incense, a perfumed bracelet, even a unique collection of scented bubbles. The collection is designed to reinvent the way we think about "fragrancing" our world, 24/7.

In the U.S., the Maison Francis Kurkdjian collection will be available at Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus in October.

Daily Hair Tip
Hair at the nape of the neck often misbehaves because it is where finer baby hair grows. Harness baby locks w/ faux-jeweled claw clips or smooth on your favorite hair paste or wax to hold fragile strands in place.
