Short Hair: Jennifer Aspen's Short Bob

Jennifer Aspen

Jennifer Aspen looks fabulous in a sexy chin length bob with a soft sweeping fringe that extends from a side part to over the top of one eye - Veronica Lake style.

The lovely Libran actress (October 9, 1973) currently stars on ABC's comedy, Rodney, set in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Jennifer, who has been acting since 1995 when she guest starred on the defunct Hope & Gloria series, plays "Trina Hamilton" who has to deal with a husband who suddenly quits his job to become a stand-up comic.

Jennifer is a great role model for someone with short hair that wants inspiration on how to create instant new looks.

Jennifer's Short Bob

Jennifer Aspen

The blonde bubbly actress is famous for her bob hairstyles. She often changes them up into a variety of styles that look smashing with her face shape which is a combination of heart shaped and diamond shaped. Jennifer has gorgeous eyes and a beautiful smile.

Jennifer's chin is prominent and needs to be balanced. For Red Carpet Events Jennifer will often appear with her hair pulled back into a short twist. She wisely appears to prefer the long side swept bang which adds a wonderful balance to her face shape.

Jennifer usually wears her beautiful blonde tresses chin length or shorter, but is always popping up with new looks.

For other special appearances Jennifer will add lots of sexy volume to her chin length bob (see image below in red gown). Or she will pink her bob back into a soft tiny bun with a few loose strands framing her face (see image at the bottom of this article).

Short hair with lots of sassy volume is popular right now and Jennifer show off lots of swing in the image to the left.

Steal Jennifer's Full Bob

1. A great bob, whether sleek or big and full of luscious volume starts with a great cut. Ask your favorite hairdresser to create a bob style that works with your face shape, lifestyle and product budget.

2. Shampoo with warm, not hot water and use a volumizing shampoo (like PhytoVolume or PhytoMousse Volume shampoo) that builds in lots of full body.

If your hair is thick or full or has other needs (dry, chemically damaged) select the shampoo that works best for your hair's special requirements. If you prefer, use a diluted shampoo formulation or conditioner only.

Note: A conditioning only step may make hair sleeker. Consider this if lots of volume is your focus.

3. Unless your hair is damaged or requires a leave-in conditioner, skip this step to guarantee maximum volume. 4. Finish with a cool/cold water rinse to instant shine and help swell the cuticle. 5. Towel blot hair to remove excess moisture but leave hair damp enough to apply appropriate volume enhancing styling products. If your hair tends to frizz, apply a good defrisant product like Phytodefrisant of similar. 6. Apply a baseball sized dollop of volumizing mousse to the palms of your hands. Work into your strands completely from the roots to the ends. Add a volumizing product to the roots like Phytovolume Actif Spray if your strands tend to be limp or lank. 7. Bend over at the waist and blow-dry your hair upside down against the direction of your hair's natural growth. Focusing your attention on the roots is key because that it what helps to create the volume.

If you prefer not to bend over, separate hair into small one inch sections and use your hands to lift the hair up at the roots. Direct the blow dryer up the hair shaft from the ends to the roots to ruffle the cuticle and make it swell. 8. When hair is completely dry, carefully smooth hair into place using a pick or tail of a comb to avoid flattening your new volume.

Apply a light spritz of soft hold hairspray. A light application of shine spray can be added but be careful to only use a little to avoid weighing hair down or causing it to attract debris.

If your hair is not as full as you would like you have additional options. These include: 1. Backcombing Your Strands 2. Using Velcro Brand (a registered trademark of Velcro Industries B.V.) or similar style Hook & Loop Rollers that self grip hair. 3. Hot Rollers or Irons

Experiment with one or all of the additional volume building options for your hair.

Daily Hair Tip
Don't smile when your hairstylist cuts your bangs. Smiling raises your forehead and can result in bangs that are too short.
