Check Out That HairI was recently reading the December/January 2000 issue of Detour Magazine when I spotted an incredible vision of curls on the contents page. Although her photo was displayed in all its glory, there was no description. Just a page number. I immediately flipped to page 153 where I was amazed by even more stunning photos of curls that won't quit. Kevin Giordano and photographer Jennifer Robbins successfully painted a photo of the sizzling hot 20 year old singer who recently made a cameo appearance on Rap's ODB on their Got Your Money single. The gorgeous Kelis (pronounced Kuh-LEASE) not only sports an incredible crown of glowing curls, she also has recently demonstrated her budding talent on her first debut record, Kaleidoscope. If you want to see more of Kelis, check her out in the ODB "Got Your Money" video where she make her cameo appearance.
Kellis has big plans for her musical future. She is currently working hard on putting together her touring group. It is her goal to assemble a group of all females for her group. Kelis is very optimistic about her opportunities for the future. Kelis is defintely in the right place at the right time. There are more female hip-hop artists than ever before, which opens doors for Kelis. Although inspired by Mary J. Blige and Lauryn Hill, Kelis offers her own version of melodies and lyrics. Rather than putting herself in just one category such as rap, R&B, pop, rock, hip-hop, Kelis blends elements of all to provide her own unique sound. Watch for Kelis. We agree with Detour's prdiction that the world will defintely see lots more of this talented lady. Also, watch for Danielle Pfeiffer who is the talented stylist behind Kelis' great curls for the Detour Magazine shoot. The Hair Boutique.com folks hope to see more of Danielle's great hair styling talents. Kudos to Kelis and Danielle, Detour Magazine, Kevin Giordano and photographer Jennifer Robbins. |
