On February 28, 2011, during live at a Dancing with the Stars conference, Chelsea was announced as one of the celebrities who would be taking part in the 2011 spring season of the American ballroom competition, Dancing With the Stars (DWTS).

Her name had been changed from Chelsea Staub to Chelsea Kane, for the show.

Coincidentally, her Fish Hooks co-star, Kyle Massey, star of Cory in the House and That's So Raven, appeared in the September 2010 season and was partnered up with Lacey Schwimmer.
