To stretch the muscles of her "cute but short" leg, Jessica Simpson practices yoga. Her fashion secret? She always wears strappy, high-heeled sandals. Jess knows that showing your feet and ankles can make legs look longer too.

Jessica Ann Simpson (July 10, 1980), is a beautiful woman. The blonde chanteuse is currently a media darling which means that every publication is writing about every aspect of her life from her supposed marital troubles to her reported feuds with other hot young Hollywood stars.

Jessica has a natural gift for attracting headlines. Her reality show, MTV's Newlyweds was a smash success. She put common food items on the map ranging from Chicken of the Sea tuna ("Is this chicken, what I have, or is this fish?) to buffalo wings (I don't eat buffalo"). Even more importantly, starring with her husband Nick brought new generations of fans who delighted in her weekly bon mots.

One of Jessica's major beauty secrets is that she is not afraid to let her personality shine through. She admits her weaknesses like the fact that she is a major slob ("Is there, like, maids for, like, celebrities?") and hates cleaning up and picking up "I'm working on hanging up my towels after I take a shower. And I'm working on putting toilet paper on the, um, I don't know what it's called. I guess it keeps us normal and humble."

Her willingness to be silly and have fun adds to her overall appeal. It gives everyday people the feeling that it is possible to be beautiful like Jessica. The beautiful blonde lets everyone see her, warts an all ("I have bubbles in my tummy" It's just air. It's not stink. Promise").

She had fun burping loudly on Newylweds while schleping her famous Louis Vuitton handbag on a camping trip where she staggered around dealing with the concept of real bears.

Whether you like Jessica or not there is no denying that she works hard to constantly update and change her style. Looking good in Hollywood takes a lot of hard work that the majority of us mere mortals take for granted.

Since Jessica first made the scene she has made major changes in her life and her appearance. The natural redhead who appears to enjoy wearing her hair long, also seems to enjoy the dramatic changes that hair coloring provides to her image and overall look.

The public has watched Jessica grow up right before our very eyes. As of June 2005 Jessica is sporting a wide range of tresses.

Brunette For A Few Seconds

Jessica has come a long way from the when she was a backup singer when she was striving so hard to become a headliner.

Like all Hollywood Stars, Jessica is no stranger to the very best hair and makeup pros. It is very likely that the ambitious star is no stranger to add-on hair, whether through extensions, wigs or half-wigs.

Even though she has publicly stated "I'm not a good try-er clothes-er on-er" she does have a special talent for doing her own hair. Yes, she does have a team of superstar hairdressers, makeup artists and stylists at her beck and call, but she also has a personal interest in doing her own hair and makeup.

Steal Jessica's Hair Style

A wholesome upbringing has helped Jessica Simpson to evolve into a celebrity that is really hot. She's got an angelic face that is enhanced when she flashes her famous luminous smile. The 5'3" blonde beauty is stunning.

Jessica, who has a lot of rich auburn highlights wears her thick hair swept off her beautiful face in a long straight slightly layered style that falls a few inches below her shoulders.

Jessica's hair mojo has blossomed since she appeared on The Newylweds with husband Nick.

Instant Edgy Bob With Ribbons Of Red

Jessica started to edge up her style as 2003 came to a close. She appeared at the November Teen people 2003 Artist Of The Year awards in a shoulder-skimming, choppy layered bob style with a full sideswept fringe. The base color was a combination of buttery blonde and lighter blonde highlights with intertwined ribbons of coppery and ruby red accents. The ends were dipped in ruby red with a definite look of deliberate fading from the middle of some strands down to the ends.

Jessica's fans were used to seeing her with softer, more feminine styles but this red tipped number really caught the eye of the media. Fans everywhere buzzed about Jessica's new hairstyle. Did she or didn't she cut it? And what about the rainbow of red hues?

If you think that Jessica spent long hours getting her hair carefully highlighted and then painted with varying shades of red, think again. Ken Paves confirmed that he had used a wig that was custom cut and custom highlighted and colored just for Jessica to give her that very cool edge.

Jessica wore the wig, styled a little differently for a red carpet stroll in a sultry satin jumpsuit. This time the ends were fuller and softly curved under to create a full bouffant style that was more elegant and sophisticated.

Instead of the full sweep of bangs, a right side part was angled so that a soft veil of hair flowed down over one cheek.

The advantage of wearing a custom designed, cut and colored wig was that Jessica could instantly accessorize her stunning fashion with her new hair.

Faux Mall Bangs

Jessica works very hard at constantly reinventing her look. With the help of hair maestro Ken Paves and hair colorist Rita Hazan, Jessica can constantly surprise and delight her many fans and the media.

After Jess made hair hairlines in November of 2003 with her red highlighted and tipped wig, she morphed into a completely different look for her appearance at the Billboard Music Awards in December of 2003. This time Ken coiffed Jessica in yet another wig with add-on bangs. Although it looked like Jess had chopped her bangs into a full sweep that completely covered her forehead, in reality, it was temporary hair.

Glamourous Updos

Jessica looks as beautiful with her hair down as she does up. In the upswept style that she wore to the 2004 Golden Globes party, she channeled a young Grace Kelly with her blonde locks sleekly smoothed up off her face.

Upswept Diva

At the 2004 VH1 Divas Concert at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas on April 18, 2004, Jessica Simpson wowed the media and her fans with a stunning form fitting gown and her real hair swept back into a gorgeous half up/half down style.

A native of Texas, Jessica Simpson entered the music world in a fashion different from many of her counterparts. Spreading values through her music, praising her family and thanking God for making her who she is, is just the beginning of the differences. Simpson has been blessed with the voice of an angel. Though she lost at an audition at age 12 to become a member of the Mickey Mouse Club, Simpson realized that she wanted more.

Jessica Simpson was a true fairytale princess on her wedding day. Since she and Nick Lachey both love her hair down, we chose a romantic texture that took her hair from looking casual to polished. I finished it off by pulling some delicate strands away from her face with three antique broaches.

For her wedding hair Ken Paves designed a very special style for his long time client. Ken explained that "romance brings a special joy to any wedding couple. As you try out different hairstyles keep in mind your finance's feelings about how you wear your hair. After all it is this man that you are walking down the aisle to marry, and this is also his dream come true. When Jessica Simpson got married I asked Nick how he liked her hair, and I worked his opinion into her hairstyle. Looking beautiful is feeling beautiful and how we feel is directly linked to how people receive us."

Steal Jessica's Looks

Jessica Simpson and her famous blonde mane created a stir in episodes of The Newlyweds on MTV. Her honey blonde hair is highlighted with baby blonde. She has been spotted on the covers of many a magazine cover and is America's beloved beautiful blonde who has done the entire talk show circuit. Her hair has gone through an entire gamut of updos, twists and ponies. She sported her hair long and then went in for a short style and is back to the long locks. Jessica Simpson's coiffure styles seem to be a rage among the rock pack. Her hairdresser Ken has always managed to coax her strands into styles that have given her a gorgeous look. He has used wigs, hair extensions and styling products to create a stunning look. The best styling products are used for managing the funky hair styles that have come to characterize Jessica Simpson. Though endowed with finely textured hair, Jessica needs to take special care to keep it in good shape.

Shampoo products to try: Phyto - Phytojoba Hydrating Shampoo - 6.7 fl oz (200ml), PHYTO - Dry Hair System, Phyto - PhytoBrush Shampoo - 6.7 fl oz (200ml) If you have fine or thin hair, use a volume enhancing shampoo. Skip any rinse-out conditioning products that might make hair too soft and flat. If you must use a rinse-out conditioner, make that you limit how much you use and that you concentrate on the middle to the ends.

Rinse well with a cool water rinse which helps build natural volume and increase shine.

Step 2: Towel blow strands. Detangle strands from the ends to the roots.

Step 3: Apply a volumizing gel or similar products to the roots. To protect against heat and add body, distribute a leave-in conditioner, mousse or gel from the top of the ears to the ends. Distribute well.

Note: If your hair tends to frizz or is naturally wavy or curly, you may wish to combine a volume product for the roots with a smoothing serum for the rest of the hair.

(Anti-Frizz Product to try: Rene Furterer - Control Emulsion Anti-Frizz)

(Root volume products to try: Phyto - Phytovolume Actif, PHYTO - Volume System, Phyto - Phytovolume Shampoo

Step 4: Working from side to side use a boar's head or natural round brush combined with your blow dryer to straighten and build in body.

Step 5: To build in volume at the roots, use the round brush to lift your tresses up and direct the air flow from the dryer up the hair shaft to the root. This "ruffles the cuticle" helping to add natural fullness.

If you prefer, bend over at the waist and direct the air flow of the dryer up the hair shaft towards the roots. When hair is 90% dry, bend right side up and work on the hair from the ears down to the ends.

Note: Hairdressers differ on their opinion whether it is beneficial to blow hair "upside down" or not. Use your own judgment on which technique works best for you.

Step 6: Use the round brush straighten the remainder of the hair by rolling individual sections carefully around the brush and directing the air flow down the hair shaft towards the ends. This helps to straighten, close the cuticle and adds shine.

(Round brush to try: Rene Furterer - Large Round Hair Brush in a Bag).

Step 7: While drying the ends, use the round brush to flip ends up slightly while finishing.

Note: For a more pronounced flip, use a round metal brush on just the ends. The metal brush acts like a hot iron or curler to help lock in curl.

Step 8: Seal the style by finishing up with a blast of cool air, if possible, from your blow dryer.

Step 9: Spray with a strong hold hairspray or volume spray. Carefully unpin the curls.

(Hairsprays to try: PhytoPro - Instant Hold Spray #15 - 6.7 fl oz, Rene Furterer - Instant Hold Finishing Spray

Step 10: Apply a tiny drop of shine serum, drops or spray into the balms of your hands. Lightly brush the palms over the top of your style and you are ready to rock ala Heather Locklear style.

(Shine products to try: Phyto - PhytoLisse (Formerly Phytodefrisant RelaxSerum)

If you like you can use a curling iron to flip up the ends a little bit or use a straight iron on selected pieces around the face to give a contrasting texture to the look.

Just a few years ago Jessica was working as an opening act. Now she is fast becoming a media darling. Watch closely since this beauty will continue to have major success in her career.
