Golden Globes: Beautiful Blondes

Introduction

NEW YORK, Jan. 17, 2005

For many of Hollywood's hottest celebrities, getting red carpet gorgeous starts with a visit to the elite team of colorists and stylists at the Sally Hershberger at John Frieda Salon in Los Angeles -- and this year's Golden Globes were no exception.

Want to get the look? Here are some tips and secrets from the men and women behind the blonde manes of some of Hollywood's sexiest stars.

We wish they all could be California Girls. Senior stylist, Cervando Maldonado gave Goldie Hawn's golden hair a tousled style, perfect for any California girl at heart. The style is long and loose with natural waves, texture and volume.

To get this look and keep it fresh through the night, Cervando recommends applying a volumizer and root lifter such as John Frieda Sheer Blonde Full-Blown Blonde volumizing spray (shown to the side) to towel dried hair to add body and all-over thickening. Next, flip hair upside down and blow dry.

Use a small round brush to add more volume at the root, then use large hook & loop style rollers or hot rollers to give hair that subtle wave without the frizz. While Velcro rollers are cooling, use a curling iron on the ends to add extra volume and curl.

Blondes really do have more fun

To help make Scarlett Johansson shine for this special night, colorist Negin Zand chose to brighten and lighten Scarlett's blond hair to transform her into an old-Hollywood screen siren.

To help keep blonde hair from becoming dull, dark or brassy, Negin suggests using John Frieda Sheer Blonde Shampoos to help remove residue and buildup from styling products and the environment, leaving blonde hair its lightest and brightest ever. To get Scarlett's sexy style, use John Frieda Sheer Blonde Spotlight (shown to the side) hi-beam glosser and detangler on wet hair. The serum-like formula instantly makes even parched, over-processed blonde look smooth and glossy. Next, blow dry hair, and then follow with a curling iron just on the ends.

To keep this retro glam style held in place all night, use John Frieda Frizz-Ease Moisture Barrier Firm-Hold Hairspray (shown to the side - available at HairBoutique.com in the Marketplace).

Daily Hair Tip
To give hair more volume try ARTec volumizing shampoo and conditioner. Finish w/ a cool/cold rinse and blow dry on slowest, coolest setting to help hair swell for maximum fatness.
