Brad Pitt Raved About Mickey Rourke at 2009 SAG Awards

The always handsome Brad Pitt attended the 2009 SAG Awards with his lovely lady Angelina who was interviewed by E! before him.

After Angelina was finished speaking with E! Brad stepped up and after speaking about Angie and her beauty, he appeared to deliberately change the topic from how Angie inspired him to his appreciation for Mickey Rourke.

In fact, just as Brad was talking about Mickey who was nominated for a 2009 SAG for his work in The Wrestler, Brad turned around and saw Mickey approaching the interview area.  Brad made it a point to hug Mickey and shake his hand.

The two actors were obviously fond of each other and seemed to really enjoy hugging and shaking hands.

Brad said he thought Mickey did an amazing job with The Wrestler and he was so glad to see the actor back in the acting game.

Brad couldn't say enough about Mickey.  He said he was definitely "one of the greats" and "one of the masters" and it was great to see him in The Wrestler.

The 45 year old Brad Pitt was nominated for his portrayal of Benjamin Button in “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,”  Ironically Brad and Mickey Rourke were nominated in the same category together but Brad obviously thought Mickey was amazing in The Wrestler.

Neither Brad nor Mickey took home The Actor.  Instead the award went to a delighted Sean Penn.

The category for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role included Richard Jenkins as Walter Vale in "The Visitor" by Overture Films,  Frank Langella as Richard Nixon in "Frost/Nixon" from Universal Pictures, Sean Penn as Harvey Milk in "Milk" from Focus Features, Brad Pitt as Benjamin Button in "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" from Paramount Pictures and Mickey Rourke as Randy "The Wrestler" for Fox Searchlight Pictures.
