Back in 2007 I had the great opportunity to interview Kim Kimble LA Hair Guru. During the interview where Kim graciously shared tons of hair scoops and tips, I realized some day Kim would be as famous, if not more so, than some of her celebrity clients.
Kim's career has skyrocketed along with the careers of some of her biggest clients.
In 2012 Kim's own reality show, L.A. Hair, debuted on WE tv. The American reality television series was originally titled Hair Divas: Hollywood.
L.A. Hair was such a hit with fans WE tv announced in October of 2012 that the series had been renewed for a ten episode second season. The second second debuted on June 6, 2013.
The first season of the series acquired 5.8 million viewers. WE tv ordered a 12 episode third season which is scheduled to premiere on May 22, 2014.
In L.A. Hair, viewers met Kim’s salon family - hair stylists Angela, Dontay, Terry, China, mom Jasmine, as well as Kim’s assistant Anthony and receptionist Charity.
Throughout the first season, Kim found herself questioning the commitment of some of her stylists, including an overly-eager Angela who goes behind Kim’s back in attempt to steal her clients; the sassy China who is so dramatic it drives Kim nuts; and her assistant Anthony, who doesn’t seem to know where his loyalties should be.
Added to the interesting mix was Kim’s headstrong mom Jasmine who has her own ideas on how the salon should be operated. It was the perfect recipe for drama.
If that wasn't enough to make Kim's head spin, her lease expired before her new salon was finished, forcing her to find another space before she and her stylists were evicted. The first season of L.A. Hair was definitely interesting and suspenseful.
The second season of L.A. Hair picked up where the first season left off. Ultimately the show highlights Kim, who is the heart and soul of the entire operation.
She's a very busy lady, spending her days juggling her vast celebrity clientele, growing a business and trying to have her own life. Her biggest challenges on L.A. Hair is dealing with the egos and drama of her staff.
Sometimes the competition is so fierce behind the various chairs on L.A. Hair that the scissors come out.
Devoted fans are thrilled that the third year of the show is set to premiere in just a few weeks. If the third season is anything like the first two, it would be a huge hit with lots of great hair scoops.
