Aphrodisiac Honey Hair Smoothing Conditioner

Aphrodisiac Honey Hair Smoothing Conditioner

Honey has been a highly valued ingredient in a wide range of hair, skin and beauty treatments for centuries.   The natural ingredient valued by the Egyptians, Babylonians and Sumerians is a natural humectant which attracts and holds water molecules.

Honey is healing, moisturizing, softening and smoothing.

Avoiding A Sticky Honey Mess

Honey is most beneficial when combined with other oils or ingredients.   While honey may work well for some, it may not work as well for everyone.

If you love to experiment with DIY formulas, experiment with honey, agave and corn syrup as your base formula and then add combination of different ingredients as desired.

Mix the following ingredients into a 4-6 ounce clean spray bottle:

2 tablespoons of pre-softened honey

2 ounces of fresh cream

4 drops of ylang ylang essential oil

3 drops of neroli essential oil

2 drops of bergamot essential oil

Once all the ingredients have been mixed together fill the bottle with lukewarm water.  Shake well to mix.  Apply to either wet or dry hair.  Use as either a pre-conditioning or post-conditioning treatment.

Experiment with using this as a rinse out or leave-in treatment.  The results you achieve will be directly proportional to your hair's natural type, texture and current condition.

A Little Bit Goes A Long Way

When it comes to honey a little bit goes a long way.    Too much honey may leave hair too thick or sticky.  To avoid a hot mess, use honey very sparingly.

Some hard core honey users claim that honey may lighten hair over time.  If this is a concern substitute molasses instead of honey.  Because of its basic properties honey may be a good curl enhancer for some types of naturally texture hair.
