Since founding HairBoutique.com in the mid-1990s, I've had the opportunity to interview many authentic celebrity hairstylists.

Although celebrity hairstylist perks can be spectacular, the vast majority of these exceptional hair professionals work incredibly hard. Yes, they reap many rewards, but they are justly deserved.

Sometimes authentic celebrity hairstylists toil in the shadows for years, before they break into the big time with A Lister celebrities.

The reason I reference authentic celebrity hairstylists because there are many pretenders in the industry who claim to be celebrity hairstylists without true seasoned celebrity hairstylist credentials.

Traveling To London First Class To Coif Jennifer Aniston's Hair

In March of 2009 The Daily Mail reported on Jennifer Aniston's £40,000 hairstyle created by her longtime celebrity hairstylist.

Chris McMillian created Jennifer's trademark tousled hairstyle for the London premiere of Marley & Me.

As detailed by The Daily Mail, Ms. Aniston spent £40,000 (approximately $61,000 US) to fly McMillian round trip from LA to London in first class at a cost of approximately £14,400 (approximately $21,000 US).

McMillian was also treated to an all-expenses-paid stay at several top European hotels for Aniston's seven-day film promotional tour at an additional cost of approximately $15,000.

Celebrity Hairstylist Perks - Travel

Not all celerity hairstylists are treated to first class travel or private planes.

Some, especially newly minted celebrity hairstylists, are required to fly in cramped coach quarters, only flying first class when they spring for upgrades or use their own miles.

Celebrity Hairstylist Career Perks - Paul Abascal

Veteran hairstylist Paul Abascal logged killer hours on all three Lethal Weapon movie sets administering to the strands of Mel Gibson.

After paying his dues as a celebrity hairstylist, he was given a shot at directing films.

Although he's still known to pick up a scissors from time to time, he's made a name for himself directing films such as Payback and Paparazzi as well as TV series.

Celebrity Hairstylist Perks - Marriage To Stellar Clients

A celebrity hairstylist who becomes the go-to hair guru for an A Lister, will often spend endless hours traveling with their client.

The hairstylist might even eliminate the majority of their other clients and focus all of their time on their primary celebrity client.

Working closely together, celebrity stylists have been know to fall in love with and even marry their mane men.

Heidi Klum

Supermodel, actress and famed German beauty Heidi Klum is a great case in point of a celebrity falling in love with her celebrity stylist.

Heidi was married to her celebrity hairstylist, Ric Pipino from September 1997 until November of 2002.

From all reports, the marriage was happy for a long period of time.

Frédéric Fekkai

Famed celebrity hairstylist Frédéric Fekkai, was in the past, sometimes compared to Shampoo's famous George Roundy played by a very young Warren Beatty.

Shampoo was a movie based in the 1960s about a famous hairdresser who was constantly surrounded by gorgeous women.

Fekkai is currently happily married to the stunningly beautiful Shirin von Wulffen, rumored to have been a hair client.

Shirin von Wulffen was the  well-renowned PR director of Yves Saint Laurent .

Previously the French hair guru was married to art dealer and ex-model Elizabeth Shiell

The Model and the celebrity stylist split after just one year of marriage.

Shiell was quoted at the time of their end as saying “you’re living with a man who’s surrounded by beautiful women.”  Indeed, what a challenge.

I've had the tremendous blessing to have known celebrity hairstylist Robert Hallowell for more than 10 years.

He's shared many of the amazing experiences he's had with his celebrated clients during the many weeks, days and hours I've spent with him.

Robert has also worked harder and logged more hours than any other hairstylist I've ever known - celebrity or otherwise.

He's gone to extremes to make sure his beloved clients always looked their camera ready best.

Even if it meant going days with very little sleep or driving in killer traffic on California freeways.

Some of the perks Robert has enjoyed including traveling through Europe, meeting royalty and being flown around the Globe on private planes and developing lifelong deep friendships with his celebrity clients.

Yet Robert would walk through fire for his beloved clients.

Summary - Celebrity Hairstylist Perks

Many celebrity hairstylist perks can range from jetting around the world on private planes to marrying celebrated clients.  However, it's not all glam and glory for celebrity hairstylists.

It can take years to break into the big time with A List clients.  Once a celebrity stylist makes it into the big time, they may have to literally give up their lives to be at the beck and call of their famous clients.

Many times celebrity stylists have to forego family time or Holiday celebrations in order to be available to their famous clientele.  Working hard is a given.

Celebrity hairstylists receive many amazing perks, but not without a heavy price.
