Blown Up Platinum Bob Hairstyle How To

Blown Up Platinum Bob

If you have naturally straight hair which is medium thick and in good condition you are a perfect candidate for a precision cut chin length bob hairstyle.  Even better, this hairstyle works for someone with a square or round face shape.

To amp up a traditional bob and take it from traditional to va-va voom opt for a short off-center side part.  Blow it up with tons of lush volume built throughout the crown and the sides.

Direct a section of hair over to one side and allow the side to seductively drape across the face in a loose side hair sweep.  The side sweep should ideally fall in a line from the edge of the eyebrow and down towards the edge of the lip, ending adjacent to the chin.

This bob looks spectacular in a striking platinum hue or in a vibrant shade of red, raven black or a striking brunette.  The combination of the striking hair color with clean lines cut around the perimeter makes this bob a spectacular medium length option.

When evaluating the possibility of this haircut work with an experienced hair professional who can advise you if your natural hair type and texture would work with this bob.

How To Style

Platinum Bob With Waves

If you're a great candidate for this style work with your hair pro to create the stunning hair color and the beautiful cut.  Once you have a great color (ask your stylist about Matrix SoColor) and bob cut follow the steps below to style:

1.Cleanse detangled hair in lukewarm water with a custom formulation designed for your individual naturally textured type, texture and condition. You may wish to do a Diluted Shampoo (DS) wash, a Conditioner Only Wash (CO Wash), a Water Only (WO) wash or a low or no poo cleanse. Utilize a product which will protect and maintain your beautiful hair color.

2. Rinse shampoo or alternative cleanse formula from hair. Gently squeeze out excess water with fingers in an accordion style.

3. Apply rinse-out conditioner like with good slip to wet strands from top of ears down to the ends (avoid the roots). Use fingers or a hair friendly wide-tooth comb to detangle individual 2" horizontal sections.

4. After hair is completely detangled rinse well and finish with a cool or cold wash.

5. Towel blot hair to remove excess water. Leave hair damp and do not rub with towel.

6. Apply leave-in styling cocktail including leave-in conditioner, defrisant and Biolage volumizing whipped mouse or similar.  Be sure to distribute styling cocktail with fingers or wide tooth comb for even coverage.  Be sure to apply a root life like Phyto Volume Active or similar to the roots to blow them up.

7. Combine a round or flat boar bristle brush with a a blow dryer. Be sure to focus creating lots of volume through the roots. Use lowest heat and speed settings to dry gently.  Dry individual horizontal sections to maintain control.  Work around the head from side to side until the entire head of hair is dry.

8.  To remove any kinks run a 1 1/2" flat iron through strands.  To add waves or texture use a curling iron on random strands.

9.  Finish with a light spray with volume enhancing hairspray or a product like Matrix Freeze Fix Hairspray.

Add instant dazzle with glitter on one eye lip or on one section of the face.
