Free Hair Cuts And Styles For Back To School Kids

Golden Shears Barbership in Montgomery, Alabama was the scene on Sunday (8/14/2011) of barbers providing approximately 200 boys and girls with free cuts and hair styles. The occasion for the clippers going strong?

It was the "Cutting into the Future of the Kids" annual event organized by Rodney Jessie.

The goal? To take away some of the financial burdens parent face when sending their kids back to school every Fall.

Parents obviously appreciated the gesture since young boys and girls showed up in droves to head back to school in style.

Mr. Jessie said "It's very important for me because I love the kids and it's all about the kids and their futures. It's all about the simple action of being able to help a child and uplift a family just with a haircut. It's amazing to me. So I look forward to participating in this (event) every year we do it."

Besides the free haircuts  there were also inflatable's, food, drinks and book bags given out at the event to make it a fun event for kids and parents alike.

In a Clairol Professional survey 33% of the respondents reported that they preferred to have their hair colored in a salon rather than risk doing damage at home. 50% of the participants said they liked their colorists best because of friendliness while only 38% valued good advice about haircolor or the fact that the colorist kept up on the latest trends.
