Easy Peacock Hair Twist How To

Easy Peacock Hair Twist How To

One of the most versatile and easy types of hairstyles to create is the Peacock Hair Twist. It works best on hair with is either naturally or styled straight.

It requires hair which is shoulder length or longer or has been extended.  The Peacock Hair Twist can be glammed up or dressed down depending upon the hair event it's worn to.

Step By Step Instructions

Follow the steps below to recreate this easy peacock hair twist.

1.  Start with newly washed and dried hair which has been style straight with a 100% boar bristle paddle brush.

2.  Use fingers or a brush to direct all the hair back towards the middle of the back of the head.

3.  Gather all the hair into a ponytail.  Position the base of the pony halfway between the top of the crown and the nape of the neck.

4.  Hold the base in place with one hand leaving the other hand free to twist the pony and eventually insert a Twitter double comb.

5.  Holding the base of the pony with one hand, lift the tail of the pony with the other hand and twist it several times holding it up towards the top of head.  Twist hair upward and continue twisting so the ponytail stays taut and close to the head at all times.6.  Leave several inches of the tail loose and fanned out at the top of the crown.  Use fingers to arrange hair into a peacock fan.

7.  Open the Twitter double combs and slide them underneath the hair to secure the hairstyle with the stretchy part placed on top of the hair to hold the twist in place.

8.  Depending on the hairstyle you're trying to create leave a longer peacock fringe at the top of the crown.  Experiment to get different hairstyles.

Daily Hair Tip
To protect against potential heat damage to your hair, always use a blow drier on the coolest setting and make sure to apply a good leave in conditioner that will protect the hair shaft from the dryer.
