NAHA Awards - Industry's Most Prestigious Awards - Sunday, July 19th In Las Vegas

The Professional Beauty Association Announces NAHA 20 Finalists

"Honoring the Work. Stories. Style!"

NAHA 20 | July 19, 2009 | Las Vegas, Nevada

The Professional Beauty Association (PBA) has announced the much anticipated finalists for the 2009 North American Hairstyling Awards (NAHA)!

Celebrating 20 years as the most esteemed beauty competition in North America, NAHA honors top hairstylists and beauty professionals with the industry's most prestigious award on Sunday, July 19, at a star-studded Awards Ceremony in Las Vegas.

NAHAs are given in several distinct categories including: Master Stylist, Hairstylist of the Year, Editorial Stylist, Avant-Garde, Contemporary Classic, Fashion Forward, Haircolor, Salon Team, Salon Design, Texture, and Makeup Artist of the Year.

A select panel of more than 60 industry judges, including Mary Brunetti, Andrew Bartfield, Sally Hershberger, Anthony Morrison and Tabatha Coffey, as well as top beauty editors from media outlets such as Nylon, Glamour, OK! Magazine, Teen Vogue, Life & Style and Zink, judged more than 600 entries through a blind online judging process. Entries were narrowed down to five finalists per category and one winner in each category will be chosen.

NAHA also salutes two professionals who have made a significant impact and contribution to the industry. This year NAHA 20 is proud to present its top honor, the Lifetime Achievement Award, to Vivienne Mackinder, a renowned international hairstylist, sought after artistic educator and five time NAHA award winner.

NAHA 20 is also pleased to induct Life Enhancement Speaker and Master Educator, Geno Stampora, into the NAHA Hall of Leaders.

This year's theme, Honoring the Work. Stories. Style!, will pay tribute to the work, capture the stories and celebrate the style of the many professionals who, throughout the years, have gained their fame through hard work, diligence and passion as well as contributed to the success of the industry.

The evening festivities kick off with a Red Carpet Reception at 6:30 p.m., followed by a star-studded Awards Ceremony featuring special artistic presentations, live entertainment and special guest appearances.

NAHA 20 will also pay tribute to Look Good.Feel Better®, a charitable organization developed in 1989 by the Personal Care Products Council Foundation. Look Good.Feel Better® is an organization which aims to provide "makeovers" through hair and makeup services to help cancer patients maintain their self-esteem and face treatment with greater confidence.

PBA will also host a NAHA 20 Press Conference on July 20, 2009, 10:15 a.m. - 10:45 a.m. Attendees are invited to stay and discover what it takes to win a coveted NAHA - from conducting a successful photo shoot to dressing a model's hair, make-up or attire.
