Warehouse 13 - Welcome To America's Attic

When they say Warehouse 13 is set in a warehouse, the good folks at SyFy aren't kidding.   The Warehouse is located in a god-forsaken portion of South Dakota and was built in 1898.

That's the least mystifying part of Warehouse 13. Somehow two of the Secret Service's top two agents, the newly assigned team of Pete Lattimer played by Eddie McClintock and Myka Kelly (MyKa not MeeKa) played by Joanne Kelly find themselves suddenly assigned to Warehouse Duty.

The team which was most recently tasked with successfully protecting the President of The United States from an odd bleeding statue find themselves being sent off, without any warning, on this really strange and mysterious assignment to this very unusual building.

The head honcho in charge of Warehouse 13 is Artie Nelsen (Saul Rubinek) who loves to bake cookies and offers milk and cookies to the newly arrived Secret Service team.  Artie is constantly offering a variety of sweets to the agents while operating as the true mastermind behind all the bizarre happenings at Warehouse 13.

After arrival the two agents take a tour of the warehouse on a cart driven by Artie.  As the agents ride through the warehouse she see an old rusted plane known as Training Flight 22 stored at the Warehouse along with other bizarre inventory.

The strange combination of artifacts and other items stored in the ginormous storage building apparently kicks up a little static from time to time.  In the form of zaps of energy.  Many of the items, like the bloodstone that are stored at the warehouse have matter than can move other matter.

Basically the newly assigned Secret Service team is tasked with finding these random objects that have power.   Whether they are alien in nature or not, the items have to be removed from the general population before they are harmed.

As the two agents look at various items in the Warehouse there is a brass kettle which reacts to wishes and according to a panic stricken Artie has to be immediately neutralized.  In the blink of an eye the kettle produces a ferret.

In fact, the warehouse is crawling with ferrets because as Artie explains, there are lots of unfilled wishes in the Warehouse and whenever a wish is made that can't be fulfilled, a ferret is produced.

What are the newly assigned team supposed to doing at The Warehouse? Good question.

Basically the new team of Myka and Eddie are supposed to hunt down unusual creatures and then tag and bag them for ultimate storage at Warehouse 13.

For their first case the two very befuddled Secret Service agents are given a case which involves locating an artifact in Iowa and bringing it back to Warehouse 13 without getting killed.  Literally.

All kinds of odd events keep happening throughout the episode like the sudden appearance of Houdini's wallet which set off some odd sparks.  There is also an odd two way video system and there are even references to Tesla and Thomas Edison.

The show is fascinating, quirky, humorous and completely unpredictable.  To say that this new SyFy show is off the charts is putting things mildy.  SyFy fans will rejoice.
