Spiked Up To The Max with got2B

Introduction

Big news. My old standby, TIGI Molding Gel, has toppled from its throne, its emerald crown is lying in the dust. I've found a new gel, and it's got2B Spiked Up To The Max!

It comes in a really cool looking plastic style bottle and is an icy blue hue.

Official Product Description

Finally a gel hard-wired for hard-hold. Stubborn, inflexible, its firm grip makes styling a snap. Spiky, stiff, sleek, whatever your style, it's staying that way. In place, in style. Only demanding styles need apply.

What I Love About This Product

Here's just a few things I love about this product, besides the fact that it spikes and holds my hair beautifully:

  • The text on the jar reads: "Demanding styles: spike, stiffen, hold" Whoa, that almost sounds a little, well, kinky to me.
  • It smells heavenly!
  • No animals were "picked on, hurt or called names in the making of this product."
  • When you lightly tap the plastic bottle on a table, it gently boings. I'm not kidding. Buy and try it.

Usage

Put as big a blob as you dare in your palm, then rub your hands together to create a little heat. Apply to wet or dry hair and style.

Packaging

got2B Spiked Up To The Max! comes in signature clean, crystal plastic bottle with black lettering.

Fragrance

What makes a great hair product smell good? Darned if I know, after reading the ingredients-I can't point to willow bark or citrus peel or peach pits; it just smells great. The fragrance is light and elusive, sort of like how freshly-ironed print dresses used to smell in church.

How I Tested got2B

After washing my hair, I towel-dried it, and approached the jar of got2B with some trepidation. Would my hair come out looking like Elvis on a bad day in Las Vegas, or worse-the grease monkey's at the local Jiffy Lube?

Well, I thought, if I don't like it, I can always wash it out. I put a quarter-sized blob in my hand, rubbed my palms together, and distributed it throughout my hair. Whoa-this felt different than any product I'd used so far. It's a spring-y feeling gel, and all I had to do was form all the spikes I wanted and LEAVE them! That's it-no spraying or blow drying.

It looked great, but how about the real acid test of any gel-going outside? I live near Dallas, TX, and during this time of year, many trees and bushes are flinging their pollens and fungi willy-nilly.

Taking a deep breath (and then sneezing-I told you the pollens are out!), I stepped out and let the breeze and the pollen do its worst.

Now I won't go so far as to say that got2B has invented the first Star Trek "shields up" protection for hair, but I have to say it came close.

There was no flattening in the wind, and no residue on my hair. Best of all, I could run my fingers through my 'do and didn't come back with a handful of goo. This stuff's GREAT!

Ingredients

Water, PVP/VA Copolymer, Glycerin, PVP Carbomer, Oleth-20, Aminomethyl Propanol, Panthenol, Benzophenone-4, Disodium EDTA, DMDM Hydantoin, Fragrance, Blue 1 (CI 42090)

Conclusion

I'm here to tell you, got2B Hair Grease is anything but greasy, and it works better than any gel I've used so far.

Now that I've fallen for it, I hope you'll give it a try yourself and let me know how you like it. I wouldn't go anywhere without it now, and that includes any fancy-schmancy spa accompanied by Mel Gibson. Hey, I'll get him to try it-hey, Mel!!
