Pet Hair: Stop Shedding Before It Starts

If you love your pet you probably want to make sure they have soft smooth skin and a healthy coat.

When you take the proper steps you can also reduce or even stop shedding of your pet's hair.

Follow the ideas below, with the approval of your favorite Veterinarian, to show your pet lots of love.

1. Add oil

Consider adding a drop of extra virgin olive oil to your pet's food.

Some people swear by salmon fish oil capsules for their pets because they provide beneficial Omega 3 fatty acids.

One of the key reasons your pet sheds is because their skin becomes dry and their hair is released more easily.

When your pet's skin is kept smooth and moist with Omega 3 fatty acids their hair will shed less easily and they'll have a shiny healthy coat.

If neither option works for you discuss alternative options with your pet's vet.

2. Address all diseases immediately

A range of different diseases may impact your pet's skin and coat causing it to shed more frequently than normal.

Make sure to keep regular maintenance appointments with your vet so that any problems can be discovered and resolved quickly.

3. Brush consistently and properly

Establish a consistent brushing schedule with the proper equipment.

Regularly brushing your pet's coat will remove lose hairs before they shed plus giving you quality time with your best friend.

4. Cleanse appropriately with proper products

It's important to regularly shampoo your pet with specially formulated products to minimize shedding.

Never use shampoo products designed for humans since they can dry out your pet's skin causing dandruff, flaking and even more shedding.

If you implement special steps designed to stop your pet's shedding with Omega 3 supplements, regular brushing with the proper tools and regular shampoo sessions with the proper pet formulas you should definitely see success.

Hair at the nape of the neck often misbehaves because it is where finer baby hair grows. Harness baby locks w/ faux-jeweled claw clips or smooth on your favorite hair paste or wax to hold fragile strands in place.
