Ouidad Clear Shampoo by Ouidad

Introduction

Sherry.JPG (11841 bytes)Hi everyone! It's Sherry LaBree and I am back with a view of Ouidad's Clear Shampoo product.

A few months back, Karen graciously mailed me a rather large box filled with full-size Ouidad products and asked me to write a review on all of them. Because Ouidad has so many products, my original and very extensive review of the entire Ouidad line has been organized into the separate Ouidad products for easier access.

Ouidad Clear Shampoo

Ouidad Clear Shampoo, 8 oz at $7.50 USD ($6.75 in Ouidad's online store or $21.60 for 32 ounces + $5.95 shipping for lowest rate) is a basic anti-residue shampoo. It even smells, in my opinion, like the famous Neutrogena Anti-Residue Shampoo.

The Clear Shampoo is thick and clear and produces a light, foamy lather. The bottle states that it is designed for normal or chemically treated hair (that would be me).

The shampoo claims to remove residue and restore natural body and shine via protein.

Overall, I found the Clear Shampoo to be dramatically similar to good 'ole Neutrogena anti-residue shampoo (12 ounces at $7.35 USD on the Net + $3.95 shipping lowest rate) Clear Shampoo definitely contains some extra oils and protein (whereas Neutrogena does not), but it removed my product build-up just as well. I like that the Clear Shampoo is an anti-residue shampoo because we curly gals tend to 'slather' on the hair products-- sometimes layering up to four products on our tendrils! Hence, we NEED a good clarifier.

Ouidad Clear Shampoo Ingredients

Clear Shampoo contains the following ingredients: water, ammonium lauryl sulfate, cocamidopropyl betaine, cocamide DEA, tocopherolpanthenol, wheat germ oil, jojoba oil, hydrolyzed wheat protein, hydrolyzed glycosaminoglycans, soluble collagen, linoleic acid, arachidonic acid, sorbitol, sulfur, lactamide DEA, polysorbate 20, Quaternium 75, Disodium EDTA, Citric Acid, DMDM Hydantion, methylparaben, fragrance.

Conclusion

Since I like the way that Hair Boutique's short hair reporter, Jane, has a scale to rate her products, I decided to develop my own system of rating using the good ole 1 to 5 STARS, with 5 STARS being the BEST!

Ouidad Clear Shampoo: 3 STARS. This Ouidad product works well, but Neutrogena is cheaper!

Warmest Regards and Happy Hair to all....

Sherry LaBree

In Allure's 12/99 Makeover Of The Month the client went into the Hair salon as a blonde & came out a brunette minus 5 inches of hair. Beware...this can happen to anyone!
