JF Lazartigue Moisturizing Mask

Introduction

JF Lazartique Moisturizing Treatment

JF Lazartigue has a very unique Moisturizing Mask which is specifically designed to address damaged, distressed tresses and dry, itchy or dehydrated scalps.

It is the very best remedy for dry hair and dehydrated scalps is moisturizing products.

One of the great advantages to the JF Lazartigue product line is that fact that many of the products can be used either before or after shampoo or similar wash treatments.

Hence this famous Moisturizing Mask can be applied to dry or slightly damp hair.

The key to achieving maximum results with this product is to leave the mask on for 10-20 minutes before either applying shampoo or applying a final cool/cold rinse. Of course you know what your hair might need, so if you prefer, you can leave the mask on for longer periods of times for deeper conditioning results.

Jean-Francois Lazartigue recommends scalp massage, using the Moisturizing Mask for both dry hair and dehydrated scalps.

The Moisturizing Mask stimulates a better penetration of active ingredients. The repairing properties act to smooth and nourish the hair treating both the keratin and the scalp. Your scalp is left hydrated and revitalized. This ultra innovative and targeted formula gives color treated hair a new beginning without weighing strands down.

Cure For Winter Hair Blues

JF Lazartizue in O Magazine

The JF Lazartique Moisturizing Mask was featured in February's O Magazine as the "cure for winter hair". The problem with many deep conditioning treatments is that it leaves hair feeling limp rather than luscious.

This is not the case with the Moisturizing Mask. While I would not recommend it for strands that are fine and thinning, because any type of conditioner would flatten delicate strands, I would definitely recommend for just about everyone else.

Besides curing Winter Hair Blues, JF Lazartique Moisturizing Mask contains a sun filter in the form of a moisturizing MNF natural agent. It provides hair with a natural block against UV rays and gives hair color a longer lasting shine.

It also protects against rapid fading due to sun exposure. After all, when spending money to get radiant color, the last thing you want is for the sun to fade it. Moisturizing Mask works hard to protect against color fading.

My Experience With Moisturizing Mask

JF Lazartique Moisturizing Shampoo

Since I tend to take radical approaches when I clean my ultra long, chronically dry wavy strands, I decided to stay the course when I tested the Moisturizing Mask. I decided to test it both ways - pre and post - shampoo.

I will admit that while I liked the results when used either way, I preferred the post shampoo treatment. I applied the Mask after one application of my normal diluted shampoo formula (1 teaspoon of shampoo to 1 quart of lukewarm water). Following the suggestions to massage it into my scalp, I did just that. Turning off the shower water, I let the mask soak into my scalp and strands for a full 20 minutes.

After I finished rinsing the mask out of my hair with lukewarm water, I completed the treatment with my standard cool/cold rinse.

Blotting my dripping strands with a thick water-absorbent towel, I applied the JF Lazartigue Disentangling Instant Silk Protein Spray with my fingertips. I dried just by bangs with my Conair Ion blow dryer. Then I wrapped my damp strands up into a fat bun that was clipped with a smooth jaw.

A few hours later when my hair was completely air dried I unwrapped the bun and viola. I had cascading waves of soft, silky, shiny lush hair.

I was thrilled with the results and enjoyed the fresh aroma of the treatment. My scalp and strands felt fabulous. After all, the proof is in the pudding.

If you use the Moisturizing Mask as a Pre-Shampoo Treatment, follow the steps below:

Hair should be slightly damp, not wet. 3. Apply the Moisturizing Mask working from the roots down to the ends. Since the product is designed to provide refreshment to the scalp, you can apply right at the roots. 4. JF Lazartique Moisturizing Mask Packaging

JF Lazartique Moisturizing Mask

I know that packaging is inconsequential compared to the product ingredients and the results.

With that said, I will confess that I love the unique jar design of the Moisturizing Mask which comes in a 8.4 ounce jar (250 ml). It has an outer space feel to it. The jar is made of a heavy plastic which some people may or may not prefer to the glass packaging utilized by other French hair companies.

For security and product safety, the outer packaging has a seal to prevent the product from being removed from the box and altered in any way. I like this added protection.

The Moisturizing Mask jar has a clinically crisp white top that snaps open. The product comes with a special plastic "spoon" like tool that allows you to prevent contaminating the precious mask ingredients.

I found the aroma to be very fresh and crisp like the product had been hanging outside on a laundry line soaking up fresh air and sunshine. I know, that may sound weird but it is the best I can do to describe this fragrant product.

Like all the other JF Lazartique products I have discovered that a little bit goes a very long way.

JF Lazartique Moisturizing Mask Ingredients

Mixing Bottles

Like many of the JF Lazartique products, the Moisturizing Mask, which has a pH of 6-6.5, works for the scalp as well as the hair.

It has a texture that enhances penetration. Besides offering fabulous moisturizing and conditioning benefits, it reduces natural static electricity and tangling.

The conditioner will not fade colored hair. In fact, it is designed specifically for color treated hair. It adds to the shine and brilliance of the hair as well as making styling much easier.

Moisturizing Mask contains ingredients designed to strengthen weaked hair shafts. In essence it creates a protective film making hair color last longer and adding pack natural moisturizing agents which helps pump up resilience of the hair and improve elasticity and suppleness.

The product's ingredients include:

Aqua (Water, Cetearyl Aclcohol, Dipalmitoethyl Hydroxyethymonium Methosulfate, Ceteareth-20, Cetrimonium Chloride, Zea Mays (Zea Mays (Corn) Seed Oil), Cety Alcohol, Cocos Nucifera (Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Quatrnium-82, Amodimethicone, Trideceth-6, PEG-200 Castore Oil, Ureae, Ricinus Communis (Ricinus Comunis (Castor) Oil, Propylene Glycol, Benzyl Alcohol, Quaternium-80, Dimethypabamidopropyl Laurdimonium Tosylate, Glycol Stearate, Glycerin, Prunus Dulcis (Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Fruit, Hydrolyzed Hazelnut Protein, Parfum (Fragrance) Tetrasodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Methyparaben, Butyparaben, Isobutyparaben, Propylparaben, Imidazolidinyl Urea, CI42090 (Acid Blue 9), HexylCinnamal, Dipentene 1, Linalool, Alpha-Methy Ionome.

JF Lazartique Deep Action Treatment w/Carrot Oil

Coconut, corn, castor and ricin oils. These oils are the precursors of keratin which is a key component of hair. These oils act as a lipidic ’cement’ for the hair shaft. They help coat weakened hair and build a protective film that allows the color to hold better. Ricin oil enhances hair shine allowing it to shimmer.

Vegetal extract of the sweet almond. Sweet almond also has a strong coating power. It improves the surface of the hair and reinforces the cohesion of the weakened hair shaft. Your hair will be very smooth and brilliant. Sweet Almond oil restructures the hair and acts as a natural protector.

Vegetal extract of hazelnut "nuteline". Hazelnut nutline is extracted from grinded hazelnuts. Hazelnut "nuteline" is rich in amino acids, peptids and saccharids. All of these amino acids are precursors of keratin.

Vegetal proteins act in synergy to strengthen hair’s keratin. The relevance of this selection of vegetal protein hydrolysats lies in their known capacity to go inside the keratin of the hair to make hair much stronger. This nut extract also stimulates hair growth. It brings nutrients to the scalp and helps the growth of healthier, stronger hair.

Amino Acids include: aspartic acid, serine, glutamic acid, arginine, proline, leucine.

About J.F. Lazartigue

JF Lazartique Essential Orange Oil Leave-in Conditioner

As a hairdresser in France, Jean-Francois Lazartigue was confronted with an overwhelming array of hair health problems. He discovered that most people's hair and scalps suffer from stress, fatigue, anxiety, sickness, and pollution, resulting in dry and oily hair and/or hair loss.

Founding J.F. Lazartigue in 1977 with the development of an unprecedented pre-shampoo treatment formulated with bone marrow in his kitchen, he further developed products based on the best active ingredients and raw materials available.

Lazartigue's product line is based on high concentrations of the most active and natural ingredients to effectively cure and combat everyday hair problems.

These ingredients range from Mexican blue algae (to help fight the problem of combination hair - dry hair/oily scalp), propolis (a resinous substance collected by bees to tackle oily scalp) to Shea Butter (an extract from the nut of a rare African tropical tree to repair damaged hair).

J.F. Lazartigue products are found only in the best salons, spas and boutiques and is available at HairBoutique.com in our Marketplace.

Summary

JF Lazartigue - Mosturizing Mask is a fabulous conditioning product. The product can be applied directly to dry strands or to damp strands after a shampoo or washing treatment.
