Jennifer Garner: Pregnant & Blonde

Introduction

Jennifer Garner had a major news week. First her wildly popular and electrifying ABC spy series - Alias - returned on Thursday night to answer some cliffhanger questions from last season while managing to spin a whole new web of new questions.

Later that same night she appeared on Leno and spilled the beans on the sex of her baby (a girl) due around Christmas.

It's hard to say what was more newsworthy at this point. Afterall, the lovely Jennifer has been making lots of headlines over the past year with her secret relationship and sudden marriage to Ben Affleck, her unexpected pregnancy and the fan frenzy over the ultimate fate of Michael Vaughn (Michael Vartan) on this season's Alias.

In some sense it could be said that Jennifer Garner's real life is imitating fiction since it seems to have as many twists and turns as her Sydney Bristow character.

So getting back to the Alias season premiere (Prophet Five), we find Sydney and Vaughn in a car picking up exactly where they left off in last season's cliffhanger. In true Alias form, a shockingly sudden car crash occurs without warning, thrusting the power spy couple into a terrifying new nefarious plot. So what the heck is going on?

Hey, this is Alias I'm talking about. If there aren't lots of crazy twists and turns that have you gasping while clinging to the edge of your seat, there must be something seriously wrong.

Sydney Bristow's Wigs

During the episode's flashbacks Sydney and Vaughn are shown in an undercover mission. The ever-changing burgandy tressed spy is disguised as a stunning blonde with long straight strands. She is outfitted in the latest couture evening gown with matching shades and accessories.

The couple's extraction consists of a mad dash across manicured lawns to a cliff where they get ready to leap off. But first Sydney gets a phone call that gives her the shocking news that she's pregnant. "It's not really a great time" she tells the doc who is calling to deliver the test results. With that said, she wraps herself around Vaughn and they dive off the cliff and float away in a parachute.

There really are no guarantees about almost anything when it comes to Alias except for the fact that Jennifer's character is routinely coiffed in a stunning array of spectacular hairstyles that mostly consist of wigs.

In the season premiere she appeared not only in the sexy long blonde tresses but later she wore a short punky black wig with short choppy bangs when she confronted Renee Rienne (Elodie Bouchez)

Steal Jennifer's Style

To recreate Jennifer's stick straight look on his mostly straight tresses follow these steps: 1. Shampoo and condition with products designed for your type, texture, condition and length of hair.

2. Finish with a cool/cold rinse to crank up shine and close the cuticle. 3. Towel blot to remove excess moisture.

4. Apply a quarter sized amount of straightening gel, balm or cream, or similar temporary straightening product. Make sure that the product is completely distributed through out damp strands from the roots to the ends.

5. Blow dry individual sections straight using a large boar's head bristle paddle brush, to "cover the most possible hair surface area". Use the brush to anchor the strands and direct the air flow down the hair shaft from the roots to the ends for straight sleek look. 6. When hair is completely dry and cool, spritz with the hairspray of your choice. 7. Gently rake the style with your fingers to arrange. Arrange front and sides. Use a boar's bristle brush or similar and brush very lightly to even out the style.

8. Finish with a spritz of shine serum, spray or similar.

Summary

Alias is back for its fifth season. Expect the Emmy Award winning spy drama to be as emotionally gripping as ever. Did Michael Vaughn really die from multiple gunshot wounds at the end of the premiere episode? Or is that just another twist and turn of the ever evolving plot?

One thing is certain, you can't be certain of what you will see over the next Alias season. So stay tuned and keep your Tivo programmed so that you don't miss a single electrifying moment.

Catch Alias on Thursday at 8:00 - 8:00 pm ET on ABC.
