Mine Smooth Sailing: Curl & Wave Tamer

Introduction

This product was one of the very first Mine products that I tested and I was amazed at how truly magical this lotion was for my naturally coarse and very wavy hair.

My hair is never perfectly straight unless I go see my stylist Shelley and she blow dries it for me. Even when I try to blow dry my hair at home, a few waves always manage to escape - popping out in the middle of my head.

The first time that I used the Mine Smooth Sailing my hair was as straight, shiny and silky as if I had gotten it blown out at the salon.

Several people made a point of asking me if I had just gotten my hair "done". When I told them that I had styled my hair by myself, they were amazed. I then took the opportunity to rave about this magical new smoothing lotion.

Packaging

The Mine Smooth Sailing is bottled in a very cool looking crystal clear, graphically clean container, that shows you the quality of the product.

Note: As of mid-2002 the Mine Smooth Sailing is packaged in a crisp clean white bottle.

Even more interesting is the fact that the packaging is sensual and inviting. In fact, I could not get over how soft and curvy the container was.

A user-friendly spout allows you to easily dispense the perfect amount of Smoothing Lotion for your needs without worrying about lost caps or messy spills. This product is just perfect for travel.

Fragrance

The Mine Smooth Sailing has a very clean, fresh aroma with strong hints of Kiwi fruit which lingers in the air and on your hair.

How I Tested This Product

I have to admit that I had my doubts about this product. It seemed too good to be true. But gee whiz. It really does work.

The first time I tried the product I poured a dime sized dollop of the peachy colored lotion on the palms of my hands and lightly rubbed it onto my freshly washed, towel blotted, newly detangled hair.

I used a large, hair friendly paddle brush. With a blow dryer set on the slowest and coolest setting I proceeded to blow dry my hair stick straight. I mean, no kinks, no funny goofy waves and no twirly hairs popping out where I least expected them.

My hair was shiny, silky, soft and gorgeous. I even considered applying for a shampoo commercial. My hair was unbelievable. I grabbed the hand mirror and twirled my hair around the room. It was unbelievable.

Does This Product Really Work?

OK, so I thought to myself, was this first success a fluke of hair nature or was this really a great smoothing lotion for wavy hair?

I tried it over and over again. In fact, seven months later, I am still getting the same stick straight, super shiny locks on wet, blow dried hair.

OK, but does it really work? Well it does for me. As a naturally "wavy head" I can tell you that I get "salon quality", non-wavy, straight, shiny, soft sensuous hair every time I use the Smoothing Lotion.

Will it work for all wavy and curly hair? I can't say for sure, but I can say it works great for my stubborn waves.

This peachy/pink colored smoothing lotion straightens my wavy hair with the flick of a paddle brush and a blast of the blow dryer, protecting my hair the entire time from heat damage with the specially formulated ingredients

Safe For Highlighted Hair

Since I highlight my hair I was worried about the impact of the Smooth Sailing Lotion on my blonde locks. No problem. Mine made sure that the Smooth Sailing Lotion is perfect for color or chemically treated hair.

Humidity Resistant

Even better, this product is humidity resistant.

I tested the humidity resistance claims on a couple of muggy days in Dallas. The results were amazing. My hair did not frizz or gum up or change at all. It remained straight and silky and smooth.

Versatility

The Smooth Sailing is so versatile it can be used either to blow dry waves and curls into straight shining hair or it can be used to air dry beautifully defined curls and waves.

I don't blow dry my hair very often because I like to protect it from the potential heat damage. However, when I did blow dry my hair, this product worked every time. The waves magically vanished.

When I let my hair air dry my natural waves were there in force. However, my hair felt soft whether I used it with or without a blow drier. There was never even the slightest hint of stickiness. The shine just knocked my socks off and absolutely no frizzies. None, nada.

Ingredients

Mine carefully selected each ingredient to smooth and straighten hair without stripping natural oils. The product is safe for my hair and yet lets me create a salon-quality look at home.

The Smooth Sailing contains the following ingredients:

Water, Tocopherol Acetate, Retinyl Palmitate, Panthenol, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein/PVP Crosspolymer, Wheat Amino Acids, Kiwi Fruit Extract, Henna Extract, Matricaria Extract, Dimethicone Copolyol, Dimethicone, Propylene Glycol, Hydroxyethylcellulose, PVP/DMAPA Acrylates Copolymer, PPG-26-Buteth-26, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Polyquaternium-28, PEG-60 Almond Glycerides, Methylparaben, DMDM Hydantoin, FD&C Red No. 40, FD&C Yellow No.5, Fragrance.

Conclusion

I have to confess, when I use this product all of my friends think that my hair looks great. When they ask if I am fresh from a salon blow-dry, I just smile and flash my Mine Smooth Sailing lotion at them.

Mine's products are unlike any hair care that I could imagine. The "good for your hair" wheat amino acids are combined with aromatic Kiwi Fruit so that it makes my hair smell great, look great and feel better than ever.

It is my opinion that this product will help most hair that goes wild with waves, curls or frizz.

Mine products are never tested on animals and are recyclable.
