What could be more enticing then a disentangling hair product that has the words silk and protein included in the title? This product is highly touted for its amazing ability to detangle and leave the body full of amazing body and shine.

Exactly what I thought. I just had to try out this leave-in disentangling spray from JF Lazartigue.

Although hair will often knot and tangle after a shampoo treatment because of chemical damage or chronic genetic dryness, there is actually a hair condition known as "trichonodosis" which is the fancy scientific name for "knotted" hairs.

Severe cases of tichonodosis is indicated when hair literally grows in loops and sometimes knots. The lower occipital regions of the head are the most likely location of the occurrence of knotted hair syndrome.

That trivia aside, when hair tangles easily after washing or if hot tools are utilized for drying and styling, leave-in conditioners or treatments are invaluable.

The JF Lazartique Silk Protein Spray is a multi-purpose product that can be used on either damp or dry hair.

This unique product contains 2% of real silk proteins. It also contains 2.5% of disentangling agents. This leave-in detangling spray is so light it can be used by all hair types from thin/fine to thick. It leaves hair full of exceptional body and shine. It is known not only for its shine, but for its touch-improving film.

After I cleanse my hair with a Conditioning Only treatment and finish with a cool/cold water rinse, I use a thick water absorbent towel to remove excess water.

While my hair is still damp I use a variety of "leave-in conditioners" or a cocktail of various products depending on whether I wish to air-dry my hair into a natural wavy style or blow dry it stick straight.

Although I have used other leave-in products in the past, I have been experimenting with the JF Lazartigue - Disentangling Instant Silk Protein Spray with great results.

Shampoo Pre or Post Treatment Options

I have experimented with the Disentangling Silk Protein Spray both before and after I wash my hair. Whether I have washed with a diluted shampoo formula or a conditioning only treatment, I like to use the JF Lazartique Silk Protein Spray as a leave-in detangling spray.

After my final cool/cold water rinse I towel blot my hair to remove excess moisture. Then I spray the Silk Protein into the palms of my hands and distribute it from the roots to the ends of my damp strands. I use a wide tooth Conair or Kent comb to distribute the product well.

If I'm going to air-dry my hair, I will blow dry the front fringe and then wrap my hair into a thick bun with a clip to dry. If I decide to blow dry my strands straight, I will apply more of the Silk Protein as a heat protection formula. I also apply an extra amount on the sections of my hair that will take the brunt of the hot blow dryer.

I have also used this versatile leave-in product as a pre-wash/pre-shampoo treatment. Although the products directions advise that you spray the product directly onto dry hair, I find that I get better coverage by first spraying it into the palms of my hands. I used my hands and fingers to distribute the Silk Protein Spray through my dry strands.

When used on dry hair, I find that the Disentangling Spray helps the penetration of any other pre-shampoo or deep action treatments.

Packaging & Ingredients

I found over several uses that the conditioner has a very light slightly flowery yet slightly fruity aroma that reminds me of a combination of roses and peaches.

The packaging is a convenient spray container that is crisp white with green lettering and beautiful rose accent colors.

Like all the other JF Lazartique products I have discovered that a little bit goes a very long way.
