Banishing Bad Hair Days since 1997!™

Hollywood Secrets Of Clip-in Hair Extensions

Introduction

Imagine that you had your own fairy godmother on call 24/7 to wave her magic wand and instantly transform your tresses to just about any length, texture or color your heart desired. Bad hair days would no longer ever be a threat since you could instantly change your hair to hide overgrown roots, add on a few highlights or lowlights, minimize split ends or banish frizz.

Believe it or not, most major celebrities already have such a person on their speed dials offering a mind blowing array of hairstyle possibilities for the latest Red Carpet appearance.

You've seen them, beautifully attired celebs with gorgeous full styles ending in lush waves, curls and perfect side swept bangs. They also have walk in closest with special sections dedicated to their eye popping collection of wigs, add-on ponytails, chignons and hair pieces.

Yes its true that hair consumers don't always have the same advantages as celebrities who must become adept at constantly changing their tresses for whatever role they happen to be playing at the time.

The good news? The add-on hair industry has changed drastically over the past few years. The wigs and add-on hair pieces popular from years gone by have been completely revamped, reworked and revolutionized. Even better, add-on hair extensions and pieces are now definitely affordable.

Definition Of Hair Extensions

Generally speaking, add-on hair, whether human of synthetic, basically is attached to the human head through either the fusion or clip-in process.

Fusion Hair Extensions

Hair extensions applied through a fusion method is the traditional method of hair extensions where human or synthetic hair is fused via a variety of methods ranging from hand tying to the utilization of adhesives.

When hair is extended through a fusion technique it is considered semi-permanent since the hair will remain in place anywhere from a few weeks to a few months depending on a variety of factors.

Clip-In Hair Extensions

When hair extensions are applied using clip-ins, hair is literally attached through a variety of methods ranging from snap on clips or other forms of attachment devices usually in some form of clip.

Hair can be temporarily attached for the purpose of adding length, texture, volume or even highlights and lowlights. Add-on hair traditionally comes in the form of clip-on ponytails, chignons or kits including individual "hair wefts" designed to be strategically merged into the existing hair.

Also known as clip-ins, clip-ons, pop-on or add-ons, add-on hair extensions offer anyone, celeb or not, the option to treat their tresses as a true fashion accessory that can be instantly changed.

Advantages & Disadvantages

Fusion Hair Extensions

Hair extensions applied through one of the current fusion methods offers a more permanent solution for anyone interested in changing the appearance of their hair's type, texture, color or length for a period of weeks or months. The majority of hair consumers that opt for traditional fusion attachment will usually visit a hair extension expert for the application of the hair which can be custom colored, cut and styled for a perfect integration.

The disadvantage to traditional fusion methods, whether applied at a salon on by sophisticated DoItYourselfers (DIYers) is the commitment of time and money required for the best results.

While some hair extensions experts have become very streamlined in the process of fusion hair, it still requires travel to a salon and a process taking anywhere from a few to several hours at the salon.

Depending on the fusion method and type of hair selected regular maintenance visits to the hair extension expert may also be required.

Fusion hair extensions are perfect for some people but not for others. The same is true for temporary clip-on extensions.

Temporary Clip-On Extensions

Clip-on hair extensions, whether add-on ponytails, chignons, individual kits like a two or ten piece extensions kit or the revolutionary new HairDo line by Jessica Simpson from HairUWear can be attached in a few minutes.

Add-on ponytails, braids and chignons merged into your own hair via a jaw clip can take literally less than five minutes.

The new Jessica Simpson line incorporates the latest state-of-the arts designs in add-on hair extensions. A lightweight piece embedded with sewn-in hair clips can be integrated to your own hair within a matter of five minutes. Almost anyone can easily apply the HairDo line with a snap of the hair clips and a finger tousle through the attached hair piece.

One disadvantage with clip-on extensions is the fact they are completely temporary.

Another challenge is matching the add-on pieces to your current hair so that the colors are compatible. Some of the traditional add-on extensions kits that come with a number of hair wefts can be difficult to self-apply without lots of practice.

Are Clip-on Extensions Right For You?

Total hair style freedom is one of the key benefits of add-on extensions, whether synthetic or 100% human hair. Why?

Regardless of the length, color, type or texture of your “real” tresses, you can instantly alter them with a variety of state-of-the-art extensions, add-on ponies, chignons, braids or fantastic revolutionary wigs.

Bored with your short Bob? Add on a lush 100% human hair ponytail, wrap a few strands around the base and slide on a chic Charmeuse silk headband to finish the look. For a fun night out pin on a synthetic chignon and create a messy hair twist. Clip on a few Swarovski encrusted mini jaws or bobbies and you are ready to party.

Are hair extensions the right option for you and your tresses? Although there are some things you need to consider with regard to your natural hair type, texture, length and condition. You also need to evaluate your budget and how much time you are willing to invest.

Jessica Simpson & Ken Paves - Revolutionary Advances In World Of Clip-In Hair Extensions

One celebrity who always has fabulous tresses for any Red Carpet Runway or major event is Jessica Simpson. It used to be true that celebrities never talked about whether they were wearing wigs, hair extensions or other hair enhancement pieces.

Jessica Simpson brought hair extensions - both fusion and add-on - out of the Hollywood closets. She not only shared the fact that she was wearing hair extensions with the media, she transformed them into the latest fashion accessory. Jessica demonstrated to the world the advantages of changing your hair to match you latest fashions, shoes and handbag.

Ironically it was extensions that brought Jessica Simpson together with her long time celebrity hairdresser Ken Paves. As the story goes, Ken was called in to help Jessica. whom he had not previously met, recover from a "challenging hair color experience" in 1998 as her singing career was taking off.

As a result he was asked by her record label to custom create some "emergency" hair extensions for her to wear. Of course Ken said yes because that's who Ken is.

After custom coloring 100% human hair wefts in blonde hues to match Jessica's current hue, Ken hopped a red eye flight from LA to New York where he met the superstar for the first time.

As Ken has reported to me he stayed awake (he normally tries to sleep on cross country air flights) and "spent the entire journey hand sewing the newly colored hair wefts together so that he could put them on Jessica".

Needless to say, Ken Paves did a spectacular job of fixing Jessica's hair with his human hair extensions. Jessica and Ken instantly bonded and the rest is hair history. This was just the beginning of a fairytale hair dressing collaboration that exists to this very day.

If you look back at the history of the hairstyles that Ken has designed and crafted on Jessica you will discover the team of Jessica and Ken have had a revolutionary impact on the entire hair extension and add-on hair industries.

For over eight years the duo has put their heads together to create a dazzling array of award winning locks that Jessica proudly showed off on Red Carpets around the world.

Jessica became almost as famous for her lush shimmering blonde tresses as she did her spectacular voice.

Ultimately Jessica was named as the hair "most wanted" by other women.

Although Ken became lightening fast at custom coloring, cutting and styling the human hair extensions that he used constantly on Jessica, he kept searching for "a better way" for celebs and non-celebs alike to enjoy the beauty and convenience of hair extensions without paying the hefty salon fees or dealing with other hassles.

Even the sophisticated DoItYourselfers (DIYs) who have become experienced at putting on a system of multiple hair pieces available in the HairUWear PutOnPieces collection, Ken kept pushing for a better way.

Jessica Simpson - Taking Extensions Out Of The Closet

As Jessica "came out of the closet" about her regular use of add-on extensions, wigs and clip-ons, Ken merged his creative energies with the HairUWear corporation.

As the celebrity hairdresser spokesperson for the famous HairUWear PutOnPieces (POP) Ken created a collaborative effort with Jessica and HairUWear to develop a truly revolutionary clip-on system known as HairDo.

It is important to note that when Ken decided on a line of hair extensions to represent, he specifically chose HairUWear because they have a special program that helps chemo patients. This fact was important to Jessica as well when she agreed to help create the HairDo line that bears her name and input.

The new system incorporates Ken's visions of clip-on hair extensions that anyone can learn to do in a matter of five minutes or less.

Working with the brilliant hair designers at HairUWear along with Jessica's input, the HairDo line offers a brilliant array of clip-on options for everyone who wants to wear add-on extensions.

Trust me, the new Jessica Simpson HairDo line which is scheduled to ship the first part of October will create an upward trajectory that hair watcher will extol and many add-on hair lines will aspire to but be unable to attain.

Jessica Simpson Hairdo Options

The sizzling new HairDo collection offers five fantastic style options in both synthetic and human hair compositions.

The new styles include:

  1. 10" HairDo 1 piece clip-in synthetic straight hair extension - go from longer to shorter without cutting your hair.
  2. 15" HairDo 1 piece clip-in synthetic wavy hair extension
  3. 21" HairDo 1 piece clip-in Human Hair Extension - treat this beautiful clip-in piece as you would you own hair - wash it, dry it, curl or straighten it.
  4. 22" HairDo 1 piece clip-in synthetic straight hair extension.
  5. 23" HairDo 1 piece clip-in synthetic wavy hair extension.

To create the long, lush sultry look on Jessica her BFF and Celebrity Hairdresser incorporated three full sets of 18-inch human hair clip-in extensions from the HairDo line.

The wefts, which Ken custom cut for Jessica ranged in length from eight inches to one inch. All three sets of HairDo extensions were in the shade of blonde.

To create a ultra natural look you may wish to select hair sets in a range of blonde that are within two shades lighter or darker to provide more dimension.

Jessica Simpson Wears Lush Waves & Curls Compliments Of Clip-in HairDo Design

Jessica Simpson at MTV's TRL July 19, 2006

Jessica looked absolutely stunning as she was caught leaving MTV's TRL by photographers.

The superstar had her tresses coiffed in a very sensual array of long cascading soft waves and curls.

Those not in the Jessica know might have been shocked to discover that all those gorgeous undulating waves that were beautifully cascading from a slightly messy side part were strands that Jessica was not born with.

Indeed, Jessica was wearing a series of 21" HairDo 100% human hair wefts in alternating light and darker blonde shades for dramatic all natural and contrast.

If you look closely you can see the light and dark blonde contrasts just as if Jessica had spend the summer in the sun. Natural blondes often have darker blonde strands on the underside with the light hue on top.

Ken perfectly mimicked this natural look by mixing and matching hues within similar blonde shades. The celebrity hairdresser prepared Jessica's natural hair by weaving a three strand hairline braid along one side of her face with the braid ending behind her ear.

The hair pieces were painstakingly curled and finished by Ken before they were applied to Jessica's natural hair. The advance styling allowed Ken to transform Jessica's look in a matter of minutes.

One of the great benefits of the HairDo line is that anyone can recreate the stunning hairstyle that Jessica showcased for the cameras at MTV.

Whether you wanted to scale down and use just one of the 21" human hair pieces or create maximum volume with two or three pieces, it is easy to do with just a little bit of practice.

While the human hair extensions offer the extra advantage of allowing for heated texture changes with curling or flat irons, the synthetic HairDo pieces can be purchased with a curl already baked into the fiber.

Since they are available in a variety of contrasting shades it would be easy to select two or three sets in contrasting or complimentary colors. An additional advantage of selecting contrasting shades is that it provides an instant look of highlights.

Jessica's MTV Hairstyle Part II

Jessica Simpson Visits MTV TRL August 29, 2006

When Jessica again appeared at MTV on August 29th, she was wearing HairDo clip-on extensions from the Jessica Simpson line.

This time Ken started by pulling all of Jessica's hair off of her face.

He back brushed the hair at the crown and created a soft messy quiff, using his fingers to create separation along the top.

The hair along the crown softly flowed into a half up/half down style at the back of her head.

Ken skillfully incorporated the add-on extension hair along the back to provide fullness and texture.

If you look closely you can see that the top and sides of the style is composed of Jessica's natural hair. Ken attached one of 21" human hair HairDo extensions in a blonde shade that matched Jessica's natural hair that was exposed along the sides and the top.

Ken finished the look by using a curling iron to create a soft wave pattern throughout the length of the extensions in the back.

Alternate the same hairstyle by pulling all the waves back into a low pony or wrap into a messy chignon that nestles at the base of the neck.

Steal Jessica's Look - Step By Step

1. Prepare your natural hair by washing, blow drying, curling and brushing so that the front and sides smoothly and seamlessly merge with the hair pieces to provide a natural finished look.

2. Pull hair up off and completely off the face in preparation for creating a half up/half down style.

3. Lightly back brush the area of hair adjacent to the forehead to give the section lift and a slightly quiff inspired look.

4. Smooth the hair back with your fingers.

5. Apply a little hair cream or paste and use fingers to lightly lift and separate two to four sections of the front quiff section to create a slightly piecey look.

6. Create a "half" ponytail with base resting at the top of the back of the head.

7. Allow the rest of the hair to flow freely.

8. Create a horizontal part that runs from temple to temple right underneath the top pony.

9. Attach the 22" one piece clip-in human hair extension.

10. Smooth the hairpiece down and lightly finger tousle. For more texture, because it's human hair, use a curling iron around the perimeter of the piece to add a bit of wave and curve.

Jessica Simpson Rocks The Hair World In Wavy Red Clip-in HairDo Design

Jessica Simpson ALMA Award Arrivals May 6, 2006

WireImage All Rights Reserved

Jessica caused a major stir on the Red Carpet at the ALMA Awards in May of 2006.

The gorgeous star who was a presenter at the awards appeared on the carpet with an eye-popping, mouth dropping ginger hued chin length wavy do that looked spectacular against her bronzed skin and with her strapless tangerine gown.

The media was abuzz. Did she or didn't she color her buttery blonde locks? Jessica loved all the attention and confused to reporters "it's a wig".

Jessica’s longtime celebrity hairdresser and best friend, Ken Paves confirmed "the ginger shade was perfect hue of neutral red” to work in harmony with the “hair and fashion icon’s golden skin tones”.

The star, who “played a major role in all the new hair line designs with Ken”, also happens to be “the President of their new hair company.” Ken confirmed that “the stunning wig was tested on Jessica in a photo shoot” and the results were fabulous.

Sharing inside hair scoops, Ken confided “Jess has always wanted to be a red head” and the “sizzling 100% all human hair” offered Jessica a “hot new hair look without commitment”. After all, Ken pointed out, “who better to take the sassy new wig, designed as a special tribute to Norma Jean, than Jessica?”

In reality Ken had coiffed Jessica in the 15" one piece Clip-in Synthetic Wavy Hair Extension piece in the color of a rich ginger.

Steal Jessica's Look

In preparation for the Jessica’s appearance at the ALMA awards Ken wet set and pin curled the custom colored and cut hair piece the night before the show with Paves Professional FLAWless Red Carpet Mousse. He then let the piece "air dry" for the best results.

Explaining that Jessica’s friend, “CaCee Cobb first braided all of Jessica’s natural hair down flat”, Ken then skillfully positioned the silky hair piece “right at the star’s hairline”.

After sliding on the stunning wig, he styled her bangs in a seductive side sweep “from a deep side part”.

He carefully “smoothed one side behind her ear using his fingers to pull some of the back curls forward so that they gently caressed her cheeks”.

The hair wizard then styled and curled the hairpiece, utilizing his best selling Paves Professional products such as Paves Professional - FLAWless Convertible-Proof Firm Hold Repairing Hair Spray and Paves Professional - FLAWless In The Spotlight Greaseless Essential Oil Shine Serum (the entire Paves Professional line of award winning products is available at HairBoutique.com).

Ken painstakingly used “a middle barrel curling iron to create the sexy tousled texture along the edges of the hair piece”. He finished with “a Mason Pearson brush and his famous finger styling” to achieve the perfect look.

After the gorgeous “is it really a wig” shimmering red hairpiece was snuggly in place, celebrity make-up artist Mary Phillips set to work skillfully designing Jessica’s makeup to perfectly match her saucy new hair hue.

It is obvious the star was having a lot of fun as a spicy redhead. As Jessica laughingly explained on the ALMA Red Carpet, to the myriad of frenzied reporters, her current blonde hairline (only the hairline) was “carefully covered with matching red eye shadow to match the wig”.

Go Ginger Like Jessica - Steal Her Look

Anyone can easily duplicate Jessica's instant switch from light butter blonde to ginger by selecting the 15" HairDo Clip-in Wavy Hair Extension in either R130 Dark Copper or R29S which is Glazed Strawberry.

1. Create horizontal part from temple to temple along the back crown of the head.

2. Clip the top section of hair up.

3. Create flat pin curls along the bottom section of the hair makeing them as flat to the head as possible.

4. Attach the Hair Clip-in Hair Extension.

5. Remove the clip holding the top hair in place.

6. Finger tousle to finish.

The 15" Clip-ins has sixteen multi-tonal beautiful colors to select from. If you prefer, go from light to dark or dark to light. Or select a saucy new color.

The advantage of the 15" piece is it allowed Ken to instantly take Jessica from longer to shorter without cutting her hair or adding additional hair wefts for more volume. Because this clip-in piece has a contoured base, longer hair can be simply pinned up under the extensions creating a mid-length wavy bob, which is very fashionable.

What are the other advantages? Besides carefully designed multi-tone colors that look like natural human hair colorations, this piece is multi-level. This means that once it is applied the piece looks like it has been carefully layered as if it were your own hair cut in layers.

Because this is just one piece you can create a sizzling new hairstyle without the hassles of working with several individual hair wefts.

Note: Blow dryers, curling irons and other thermal tools should not be used on synthetic fiber as the heat can melt the fiber.

Instructions For Easily Applying Jessica Simpson's Clip-in HairDo Design

Jessica Simpson Wearing HairDo 10" HairDo 1pc Clip-In Human Hair Extensions Available in 15 Shades

HairUWear All Rights Reserved

One of Ken's goals when creating the HairDo line was to make it so easy anyone, celeb or non-celeb could attach the clip-on extensions in a matter of just a few minutes.

As a result the HairDo line has many user friendly features including a carefully constructed underside with clips.

Always open and practice applying your Jessica Simpson HairDo clip-in extensions to your hair before you plan to wear them for your next hair event.

Although it is a very easy process to install the extensions, allow yourself time to get familiar with opening and closing the clips.

Practice Opening The Clips

Lay the hair extension piece down on a clean surface with the clip side of the piece facing up. Place both of your thumbs on each side of the clip with your index fingers at the front sides of the clip. Snap the clip open by applying light pressure with the index fingers. Close the clip by again applying pressure with your thumbs. Practice opening and closing the clips until you feel totally comfortable.

Plan Your Ultimate Texture

Plan your ultimate texture. If your goal is to transform your tresses from your naturally wavy texture to stick straight, prepare your hair accordingly.

Shampoo, condition and blow dry your naturally curly and/or wavy hair straight so that any of your natural hair will merge perfectly with the add-on pieces.

If you are going from stick straight to wavy or curly you will want to add the appropriate texture to your natural hair so that the look is perfectly seamless.

Once you have your texture created on your natural hair and have practiced opening and closing the clips on the hair piece proceed with the following steps to apply the extension to your own hair.

Step One - Prepare Your Hair For Adding Hair Pieces

1. Using your thumbs, a comb with a tail or your index fingers, part your hair in a horizontal line from ear to ear. As Ken advises, part your hair by "working from temple to temple just below the crown of your head."

2. Once you have separated your hair lift all the hair above the newly created part and clip the hair out of the way using the included duck bill hair clip. If your prefer, use more than one clip to keep hair out of the way.

3. Take all the remaining hair and twist it into large flat pin curls. The goal is to get the remaining hair to lay as flat as possible since the add-on hair will be attached over it.

4. Use a comb or brush and select individual items of hair where the clips on the hairpiece will be ultimately attached. Ken advises lightly teasing those strands so that the clips will have better traction when they are attached to your natural hair.

Step Two - Add The Hair Piece

1. Open all the clips that are sewn into the back of the hair piece. The top middle clip should be attached first by placing it at the middle of the back of your head just below the horizontal part so that the top of the hair weft is placed evenly with the part when it is attached. Move the clip slightly downward, catching your hair in the clip and then snap it shut.

2. After you have attached the first clip make sure that it feels secure and comfortable. Attach the second and third clips. Start by attaching the left top clip next. Hold down the center clip with your right hand, and use your left hand to move the left edge of the weft as far as it will go around your head. Snap left clip shut. Holding the middle clip with your left hand, now attach the top right clip (3) in the same fashion. Check for gaps by running your fingers along the top weft to make sure it lies flat against your head. If you find a gap, open the clip and reposition.

3. Place the remaining clips. The bottom right clip is next. Pull the hair out of the way and place this clip by stretching the piece down to the bottom edge of the nape and slipping the clip into your hair, making sure the clip securely catches the hair at the end of the nape. Repeat on the left bottom clip. Next attach the right side clip behind your ears. Finally, attach the left side clip.

Step Three - Finish

1. Carefully unclip all the top hair that was clipped out of the way. Use your fingers to gently "finger pick" your natural hair to blend it with the newly applied HairDo Clip-in Extensions.

2. If you have applied a 100% human hair piece, you can touch up the texture with a hot iron or curlers.

Remember that Ken almost always prepares Jessica's add-on hair pieces and extensions in advance of her hair events. This means he has washed, set, curled and styled the human hair extension pieces (synthetic hair can not be styled with heat).

Removing Hair Extensions

The extensions are easy to remove. Simply snap open all the clips and gently lift them up and away from your hair. It is important to remember never to try to remove the hair piece without first opening all the clips. Avoid excessive pulling or tugging to remove your hair piece so that you do not damage the piece or your own hair. Take your time to avoid any possible problems with removal.

Brush the sides and back of your hair up towards the crown so that you can attach the POP Pieces where your natural hair comes together. Attach the HairDo hair wefts underneath the top layer of your own hair.

The HairDo wefts have small combs attached to the underside of the hair. The combs, as Ken explained to me, are very easy for anyone to attach and then remove".

Once the hair is attached and arranged to your satisfaction use a small barrel curling iron to create long lush waves. To give a tousled look use your fingers to rake through the cooled curls and waves. Finish with a light spritz of hair spray.

Steal The Celebrity Hair Tips

All the celebrity hairdressers style the add-on extensions of their famous clients anywhere from a few days to a few hours before the clip-ons are added.

Follow this great tip by styling your own extensions in advance of your big event so you can just finger pick and finish with hair spray right before you leave your home.

Camouflage the area where the add-on ponytail merges with your natural hair by adding a gorgeous jeweled ponytail holder, a crystal encrusted barrette or other hair babble to draw attention away from any obvious seams or attachment pieces.

You can also take one strand from the ponytail and wrap it around the base and then anchor it to form a natural pony tail holder.

Steal The Celebrity Hair Extension Styles

Prepare your natural hair by washing, blow drying, curling and brushing so that the front and sides smoothly and seamlessly merge with the hair pieces to provide a natural finished look.

One thing that Eva Longoria and Jessica Simpson have in common, besides the fact that they are beautiful and talented, is Ken Paves.

With his dedication and commitment to creating only the most gorgeous styles for his clients, Eva's hair has ascended to new levels of beauty under Ken's styling expertise.

The 2006 ALMA Awards also revealed the absolute hairstyling wizardry of celebrity hairdresser Ken Paves as he transformed the gorgeous Eva from a demure Deco Doll to a sleek sexy world class Movie Star with eight additional hair and fashion “personas” in between. Even more shocking, (but not surprising to those of us in the Ken Paves know), was the fact that the show was a live performance. Which means, in plain English, that Ken had “mere minutes, even seconds", in which to build a stunning series of ten totally different hair styles.

Ken confirmed “there was a grand total of six to ten minutes allocated for hair, make-up and fashion changes”. Which meant Eva's mane man had to perform his hair designing creations with his well-known genius precision, while in unison with the make-up artists, stylists and anyone else helping to instantly transform the star through her many eye popping ALMA fashion changes.

One of Eva's gorgeous hairstyles of the evening was designed to work with her soft golden mocha strapless gown by Esteban Cortezar. Ken arranged Eva's hair in a stunning design featuring long saucy waves.

Indeed, if you look at the closing hairstyle and the After Party hairstyle you will notice a significant different in the fullness and body of the strands.

Ken wanted the heavenly style "to last all night long" so he cranked up the shimmer by adding even more of his famous Shine Serum and Firm Hold Hair Spray".

It was no surprise that Beyonce wore one of the hottest hair styles for 2006 nor was it a surprise that her style was a ponytail.

After all, the pony has become the "it" hair style for celebrities for 2006. As celebrity stylist Ken Paves pointed out "who doesn't love a pony? It's instant polish. The perfect accessory to any look."

Indeed, in Beyonce's case the pony drew attention direct to a breathtaking pair of earrings that the award winning was wearing. The sassy hairpiece, which was most likely a clip-on piece, also showed off her long elegant neck and shoulders.

High ponytails offer many advantages from providing a sleek finish, a lot of swish (if desired) and it helps to focus attention on the cheekbones. Hollywood hairdressers have always used high ponytails to create an "instant" face lift. Not that the lovely songbird needs any help in that department.

The popular doctor from Grey's Anatomy won rave reviews for her royal purple slightly textured John Galliano for Christian Dior gown complete with a stunning a strapless bustier-style top.

To showcase the gorgeous high fashion gown the star wore her hair in a simple but stunning pony style that was completely slicked back from her beautiful face.

A very long waist hugging hairpiece. most likely a clip-on piece was attached to the back of her normally shoulder length hair.

The pony was stick straight, sleek and super shiny. It provided an abridged Lady Godiva look with her long sweep of sultry light colored hair lightly brushing across the top of her bare arms.

Since the star must maintain a similar style for her role as Meredith Grey a clip-on pony was ideal since it did not permanently alter her style.
