Many hair, beauty and fashion experts believe Emma Watson is the new It Girl. She set the hair world on fire in 2010 when she replaced her long blonde wavy ponytails with a short cropped pixie.

The hair world went crazy for her new super short golden based haircut which was brilliantly highlighted and lowlighted with an array of hazelnut and caramel accent colors.

From A Super Short Pixie To A Longer Bob

Emma has changed up her super short cropped pixie since she went short by allowing her strands to grow longer.

She recently told WWD in an interview that she's "growing out her hair' and is moving more towards trying "to get into kind of like a bob."

The young actress has had a direct hand in the new Lancôme’ campaign. She recently told WWD that she helped to "choose the color or the rose" as well as being "involved in the concept for the film and tag line 'Catch my heart if you can.'

She also helped to select the name of the fragrance and even donated her own hat for the ad shot by Maria Testino. She told WWD she bought the hat "at a flea market in Paris".

Less Is More For Emma's Hair, Fashion, Beauty

During her interview with WWD she explained she works at dressing her young age in an appropriate manner which is a challenge for the young beauty.

Emma said "it isn’t actually that easy when obviously high-end clothing is designed for women who are older than I am. It’s a fine line to tread between looking smart and looking ready to go on a red carpet but also looking like I’m 21. It’s quite difficult.”

She also noted "I think less is more — less makeup, less accessories is better.” Emma tastes in fashion include "I love to wear Isabel Marant, A.P.C., Chloé and agnès b. (for casual). In American brands, I love Vena Cava. I think Stella McCartney is great, and British brands — obviously, I love Burberry,” she said. “But I mix and match.”

More On Emma Watson's Hair

Although Emma has maintained a consistently low key brunette hair hue and hairstyle throughout her career to date, it's likely that as the Harry Potter star finds her way into the world of fashion she will start to change her hair along the journey.

This already happened when she shocked fans with her uber short pixie which she is not allowing to grow out and soften a bit.

Emma has shown she has a mind of her own so it's unlikely she will be swayed into hair, fashion or make-up directions that don't resonate with her own goals and ideals.

When fans first spotted Emma she wore her brunette tresses long with a hint of wave. Over the years as she grew up right in front of her fans she kept her hair long and lush with hints of texture throughout the edges.

Before cutting her hair into a short pixie she started rocking some gorgeous sleek French Twists and related chignons. Her hair also got lighter taking on a lot of blonde highlights.

When she unveiled her pixie haircut there were a lot of mixed opinions. Some fans loved it, others hated it. Ultimately Emma is the type of peson with a strong identity who probably didn't care what the overall reaction was as long as she loved the look.

Now she has stated she plans to grow her hair longer into a softer bob style of haircut. The key to growing her hair gracefully from a short pixie to a longer bob is having regular trims which keep her hair looking finished, polished and blended.

Emma's gorgeous skin and eyes works great with her chocolate brown hair. Keep in mind that your ability to perfectly copy Emma's hairstyle depends on your own hair type, texture, length and condition.

If you wish to attempt her hairstyle follow the steps below:

1. Start by selecting a shampoo and conditioner with a color safe formula like the Phyto Colored Hair System, to preserve any colored base, highlights or lowlight hues.

If your hair is chemically treated or colored, consider using a color appropriate shampoo like Rene Furterer Okara Repairing Shampoo or select a shampoo that works with your current texture, type and condition of hair.

Eliminate dry strands with J.F. Lazartigue Micro Pearl Shampoo for Dry hair.

2 Apply a rinse out conditioner that works for your hair's normal texture, type and condition. Consider trying a color co-ordinated mask such as Okara Restructuring and Protective Radiance Mask to intensify your existing color. Avoid using the conditioner on super fine hair or near the roots.

3. Finish with a cool/cold rinse to close the cuticle and help add natural shine.

4. Towel blot (never rub or rough dry) to remove excess water.

5. Coat damp strands with your favorite customized styling product cocktail containing styling tools such as a defrisant, volume building mousse, gel or other styling products that work best with your hair texture and type.

Detangle working slowly from the ends to the roots. Create desired part. Emma tends to wear side or off-center parts.

6. Blow dry using a small round boar's bristle brush (Conair Round Brush) for a sleek finish. Direct the air flow down from the roots towards the end to build in shine and smooth strands.

7. Use fingers to lightly pick and lift near the roots for desired volume and lift while using a round brush to lightly roll the ends of the hair under.

8. When hair is 100% separate hair into individual 2" sections and run a flat iron over each section for a sleek and polished finish.

9. Apply a small drop of shine serum to the tips of your fingers and massage into the palms of your hands. Lightly brush your serum infused palms over the top of the finished hairstyle.

If you prefer, use a shine spray product and spray into the palms of your hands and then glide over finished style. Another option is to finish the look with a long lasting hairspray for a silky shine effect.
