Citre Shine Moisturizing Shampoo For Dry or Damaged Hair

I'm always on the lookout for great shampoos, and heard about Citre Shine from a friend. Whenever I try something new, one of the first things I check out is the list of ingredients.

Like most of us enlightened types, if the product has lots of herbs and fruit essences in it, I'm hooked. I mean, what did Adam and Eve use on their hair before Prell or Origins?

That's right--herbs and fruit, and just look at how nice their hair looks in all those paintings!) Also, since my hair tends to be on the dry side, I wanted to see what kind of moisturizing effects I would get using it.

Citre Shine Moisturizing Shampoo for Dry or Damaged Hair

This shampoo gets points from me as there is no animal testing involved. In addition, one of Citre Shine's claims is that it contains a "gentle, nourishing cleanser for dry, damaged, or over-stressed hair." I could almost hear all my individual hairs screaming, "You've been REALLY stressed since the holidays! We NEED a nourishing cleanser!"

I've always been one to indulge my hair with anything it wants, so I gave it a try.

Apply a small amount of the shampoo on your hands, and then work it into wet hair. It makes loads of fragrant lather; so fragrant in fact that I did something I rarely do--I shampooed twice! Rinse well.

Citre Shine comes in a clean, white bottle with a sunshiny orange background for the black lettering.

This shampoo has a heavenly citrus-y scent (another one of those that smell so good you want to chug it) that turned my shower into a lavish spa experience. You can detect the grapefruit and tangerine essences especially.

How I Tested This Product

I usually wash my hair about every other day. I used Citre Shine after a morning workout, and as I said earlier, I shampooed twice. Even wet, my hair felt silky as well as squeaky clean. I wanted to see what difference I could feel in the texture of my hair after using it, and I wasn't disappointed.

After my hair dried, I did see an appreciable difference in shine, and it felt wonderfully soft!

Shampoo Ingredients

Water, extracts of white grapefruit, Rio Red grapefruit, citrumelo, tangelo, tangerine, satsuma, papeda, pummelo, tachibana, ponkan, clementine, citrange, Indian wild orange, vita-protein complex (low molecular weight hair keratin and panthenol), sodium laureth sulfate, ammonium laureth sulfate, cocoamphodiacetate, sodium lauryl sulfate, glycol stearate, 2-ethylhexyl-p-methoxycinnamate (sun-filter), methylparaben, DMDM hydantoin, disodium EDTA, fragrance, essences of white grapefruit, Rio Red grapefruit, citrumelo.

I liked this shampoo--so much so that it's living in my shower now.(FYI--the products I pan are kept in shame under my sink.) I found that it did a great job on my hair, which is coarse and can get dry.

Jane's Rating

On my own scale of 1-10, 10 being the best, I give Citre Shine Moisturizing Shampoo for Dry or Damaged Hair a 9.
