Steal Chelsea Kane's Blunt Bob Hairstyle - Step By Step
To steal Chelsea's picture perfect blunt bob hairstyle start by visiting your favorite professional hairstylist and request a blunt bob haircut modified to work with your own hair type, texture, face shape and hair goals.
If you're unsure whether you would enjoy a blunt bob like Chelsea's you may want to first experiment with a blunt bob wig to see if you enjoy the look.
If not, then you can skip having your hair cut into this style.
If you enjoy it, make sure you start with a great blunt bob hairstyle. A good haircut makes all the difference in achieving a picture perfect style.
Follow the steps below to style this beautiful bob:
Step 1: Cleanse hair in lukewarm water using your favorite cleansing method (Shampoo, Diluted Shampoo (DS), Low Poo, No Shampoo (NoPoo), Conditioner Only (CO), Water Only (WO) or similar) and products appropriate for your hair type, texture, length and condition.
Step 2: Rinse well and apply your favorite rinse out conditioner from the top of your ears down to the ends.
Step 3: While rinse-out conditioner is still on your hair detangle using your fingers or a wide tooth comb with smooth teeth.
Step 4: When you've detangled your hair from the roots to the ends finish with a cool/cold water water rinse.
Step 5: Towel blot strands to remove excess moisture.
Step 6: Work a styling cocktail into damp strands.
Your styling cocktail might include a leave-in conditioner, defrisant cream and a volumizing styling lotion, gel or cream to add volume at the roots.
Optionally you may wish to protect your hair from damage by misting it with a heat-protectant spray before you dry. It will keep hair soft and smooth as you flat-iron.
Step 7: Use a wide tooth comb to create a side part on either side of the head.
Step 8: Separate hair into 3 or 4 equal sized horizontal sections. Use a smooth clip to secure any of the sections you're not currently drying. Work on one section at a time.
Step 9: Blow-dry each section of hair with a 100% boar bristle paddle style brush to create straight sleek strands.
Hold each section of hair up towards the ceiling and direct air flow of the blow dryer from the ends up towards the roots to build in volume.
Finish each section by directing the air flow down the top of the strands from roots to ends.
Step 10: When hair is 100% dry and no longer cool to the touch, lightly spritz your hair with styling hair spray or heat protection spray.
Step 11: Use a flat-iron to straighten two-inch sections of hair. Start at the roots and curve iron under at the ends.
Iron your bangs as well. Smooth away any fly-a-ways by massaging a styling cream or pomade into the palms of your hands, then running them over your strands.
Step 12: Finish by applying a drop of shine serum or a spritz of shine serum spray into the palms of your hands.
Massage together and then lightly brush over the top of the finished hairstyle.
Adding Faux Bangs
If you don't have bangs but would like to add them to this blunt bob look then buy bangs in the same color as your current hair.
Place the elastic strip of faux bangs at the front and center of your hairline.
If the bangs specifically allow heat styling you can use a flat or curling iron to style. Be sure to check the tags to make sure heat styling is allowed.
Whether Chelsea wears her buttery blonde blunt bob sleek and straight or she mixes it up with soft waves or curvaceous curls, her hair is picture perfect.
