Bracato Moisture Creme & Constructor

Introduction

Since I've recently discovered Brocato products, I wanted to try one of their shampoos and conditioners. Moisture Creme is a moisturizing cleanser for the hair, and the Constructor is a repairing conditioner.

broc_line.jpg (15548 bytes)The shampoo is unlike any I've used in the past; with this one, you apply it to wet hair and allow it to remain on the hair and scalp for about two minutes.

My main complaint is that it is never explained anywhere why the shampoo must be left on this long. Also, I have a question as to what kind of process the shampoo is supposed to be doing if it's more than just an ordinary shampoo.

The conditioner is more traditional; it is left on the hair for about five minutes.

The Bed Head hairdo I maintain requires a lot of gel, hairspray, plus a styling stick. Since some products have a high alcohol content, it can be drying for my hair, so I look for a shampoo to hydrate and condition. Equally important is a rich conditioner to replenish moisture and shine without weighing my hair down.

Brocato Moisture Creme

As I said earlier, this shampoo is different; you leave it on for a few minutes before washing it out.

Usage

Apply a generous amount of the shampoo to wet hair, and work into a good lather. Let it stay on for at least two minutes. I found that it didn't make a lot of lather, and it was almost odorless. That alone made it pretty different.

Rinse thoroughly, then follow with the Constructor to condition.

Constructor

The Constructor conditioner is more traditional; you apply a small amount to freshly shampooed hair, work it in and let it sit for about five minutes. Rinse thoroughly. I've never seen a conditioner that looks like this one does; it's thin, almost watery, and yellow.

The ingredients suggest that it's giving your hair a real moisturizing, but again, it isn't explained how.

Usage

After shampooing, squeeze a out a small amount of conditioner and apply it evenly throughout the hair. You can leave it on up to five minutes while you finish your shower, then rinse.

Packaging

The packaging is clean-looking, with its translucent white tube and black and brown lettering.

Fragrance

Brocato Moisture Creme shampoo is nearly odorless. There's a very faint flower scent, but it's very faint.

The Constructor conditioner has a stronger scent of flowers with a hint of coconut.

How I Tested These Products

I washed my hair with the Moisture Creme, and got very little lather. I dutifully left it on the prescribed two minutes, then rinsed it out. It gave my hair that squeaky-clean feeling I like, but was not noticeably softer.

After rinsing out the shampoo, I applied a small amount of the conditioner on my hair and massaged it in. I left it on for five minutes, then rinsed it out. It was an adequate enough conditioning, but nothing special.

Conditioner Ingredients

Deionized water, propylene glycol, disodium cocoamphodipropionate, hydrolyzed keratin, hydrolyzed yeast, lecithin, cocoamidopropyl betaine, glycol stearate, cetyl alcohol, PEG-100 stearate, polyquarterium-10, nonoxynol-10, tetrasodium EDTA, citric acid, methylparaben, polyparaben, DMDM hydantoin, glutaal, fragrance, and other ingredients.

Note: And what might those "other ingredients be?" This, too, needs explaining.

Conclusion

This is the fourth and fifth Brocato product I've tested, and I have to say that I am not impressed. I find Brocato Moisture Creme and Constructor average at best. They do an adequate job of cleansing and moisturizing the hair, but it's nothing that hundreds of supermarket products don't already do.

Jane's Rating

On my own scale of 1-10, 10 being the best, I give Brocato Moisture Creme and Constructor a 5.
