Bob Steele & Stan Milton Salons Take Honors

Introduction

Malibu, CA - Bob Steele Salon Aveda and Stan Milton Salon, two salons from the Atlanta area, are the winners of the first 1-800-THE-SALON Member Photo Competition, announced Michael Apstein, CEO of Access Brands.

The winners, who were among more than 100 entries received, were selected based on their ability to convey the brand image and will be used in its upcoming national print and television advertising campaigns. "The level of interest and the quality of the salon work we received were incredible," says Apstein. "They reflect the quality of work consumers will receive whey they locate a salon through the 1-800-The-Salon system.

Ming Matthews, a stylist for Bob Steele Salon Aveda, created one of the winning styles, which was a soft, feminine look with lots of movement and natural-looking highlights. Matthews, who is originally from Korea, wanted to create an all-American, classic look that would appear to her clientele. Matthews worked with her model's natural color and added soft, lighter highlights to bring out her eyes and her beautiful complexion.

The winning look from Stan Milton, which features a layered blonde look, was inspired by Stan Milton's recent trip to Paris, where he attended the Mondial Coiffure Beaute.

In addition to the two finalists, four semi-finalists were also selected in the contest. The semi-finalists are Actaea Works, Ltd. in Shorewood, WI: Best Head in Town in San Antonio, TX; DL Lowery Salon in Indianopolis, IN; and Salon Santiago in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
