James Cameron Thrilled At Win For Avatar

James Cameron was thrilled when Julia Roberts announced that his film, which took four years of his life to finish, won the Golden Globes for Best Film.

He insisted that the entire cast go onstage with him to accept that award.  The science-fiction epic won out over George Clooney's critically acclaimed "Up in the Air", Quentin Tarantino's "Inglorious Basterds", as well as "Precious" and Iraq drama "The Hurt Locker".

The cast and crew who joined Cameron onstage was obviously thrilled and excited for the Golden Globe honor.

During his speech he said Picking up the award for 'Avatar', Cameron told the audience "this is best job in the world it really is. 'Avatar' asks us to see that everything is connected, all human beings to each other and us to the Earth. And if you have to go four and a half light years to another, made-up planet to appreciate this miracle of the world that we have right here, well, you know what, that's the wonder of cinema right there, that's the magic."

Cameron said "and if you have to go four and a half light years to another, made-up planet to appreciate this miracle of the world that we have right here, well, you know what, that's the wonder of cinema right there, that's the magic." Cameron was given the best director award over his ex-wife Kathryn Bigelow, who was nominated for 'The Hurt Locker'.

He said: "Frankly, I thought Kathryn was going to get this. She richly deserves it."

Cameron thanked all the spouses of those who worked on the film and especially his wife to whom he said, "You make my dreams possible."
