Sebastian Professional Calls On Consumers To Choose What's Next In Hair Fashion

Sebastian Professional Calls on Consumers to CHOOSE What’s Next in Hair Fashion Online-based, Consumer-voted What’s Next Awards Fuel New Hair Trends

Woodland Hills, CA –  An all-new online stylist competition that enlists consumers to choose what’s next in fearless hair fashion will launch in August 2009 at www.WhatsNextAwards.com. The launch of Sebastian Professional’s What’s Next Awards offers self-professed beauty tastemakers the chance to determine the bi-weekly stylist winner whose creativity and fierce vision is a cut above the rest.

The What's Next Awards

The What’s Next Awards calls for stylists nationwide to create their most unique and edgy looks to support the current texture focus theme, upload a photo of their creation, share it with friends, clients and peers, and finally, await their fame fate.   The stylist with the most votes at the close of the competition will win a trip to New York City where he or she will decorate the runways with their hair-sculpting talent as a Sebastian Professional guest artist at Fall 2010 Fashion Week.*

Consumers are invited to log on to www.WhatsNextAwards.com to vote and comment on their favorite looks. Each vote submitted will also count as an entry to win the consumer grand prize of a weekend trip for two to New York City where the winner will enjoy a $500 shopping spree and access to a Fashion Week party.

Additionally, each person who registers on the website will receive a complimentary subscription to BlackBook magazine. “The What’s Next Awards is exciting because it’s a creative soundboard for both stylists and consumers,” says Thomas Dunkin, member of the Sebastian Professional Stylist Design Team. “This is exactly the type of platform I wish I had when I was starting out to showcase my work and gain exposure. It also gives consumers the opportunity to tell us what’s relevant and exciting to them.”

What’s Next Awards Contest Details

From now through the end of December, the focus of the entries should be inspired by the stylists’ interpretation of texture. For the second phase of the What’s Next Awards beginning in February 2010, stylists will be asked to shift their talents to create their most fame-worthy volumized looks.

Stylists will post photos of their fiercest hair creations that best represent the focus theme to the What’s Next Awards Web site for the ultimate evaluation. One consumer will also be chosen based on the frequency of their votes for the winning prize of a weekend trip for two to the nation’s fashion capital, New York City.*

The winner will be announced on or before Friday, January 8, 2010 on www.whatsnextawards.com. Sebastian Professional’s new Texture Collection is currently available, along with the rest of the newly reinvented Sebastian products, at 10,000 salons nationwide.
