New Sassoon Academy Opens In Chicago

On 18th October 2009 Sassoon will open a brand new advanced Academy in Chicago's Clark Street.

The city of Chicago is an obvious choice for the expansion of Sassoon Academy advanced education. Talented hairstylists across the Mid-West have been for many years staunch advocates of abc | Cutting Hair the Sassoon Way and abc | Coloring Hair the Sassoon Way.

With the culture that exists in this city, with its eclectic mix of transcendent architecture, leading fashion and world-class theatre and entertainment, combined with easy access from across North America and indeed the globe, what better location than Chicago as the next addition to the Sassoon Academy trilogy.

The Sassoon Academy is conveniently located near high energy urban shopping, premier restaurants and the famous Chicago Art Institute. Housed at 181 N. Clarke Street in a 4800 Sq ft dedicated space, the facility has all the attributes needed to deliver one-on-one hands-on education and intimate demonstrations of inspiring Sassoon Academy education.

At Sassoon Academy the teaching and learning philosophy has been developed in the form of a pyramid. Beginning with the abc courses, where hairstylists are immersed in the understanding of the dynamics of hair through the Sassoon proprietary methods; abc cutting and coloring hair the Sassoon way, available in a three or five day format.

The middle of the pyramid is the next step. In the Salon Creative course, attendees will begin to take all of the skills they have learned and with increased confidence combine the abc techniques in different ways to enhance there own individual style, offered in a three or five day format.

At the top of the pyramid comes the magic ingredient - creativity. Hairstylists will have the ability to begin to redefine boundaries and explore the possibilities of hair design. The rules have been learned - now its time to break them. Out of this experimentation can come new ways of thinking - Delivered in half day Masterclass, featuring International Creative Director Mark Hayes.

Lastly, ideal for recently licensed hairstylists, graduates of a salon apprentice programme, stylist re-entering the craft, or people wishing to gain a more in-depth understanding of abc | Cutting Hair the Sassoon Way, the ever popular Six week Comprehensive course.
