Cut-A-Thon to Benefit Missing Children---Look Great, Feel Better By Helping Others

Pivot Point International is sponsoring a Cut-A-Thon to raise money for the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) on May 25, National Missing Children's Day.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Pivot Point's three Chicagoland campuses: 1560 Sherman Ave., Evanston; 3901 W. Irving Park Rd., Chicago; and 144C W. Lake St., Bloomingdale.

"We will donate 100% of the cost of our salon services to the National Center," explains Corrine Passage, Executive Director of Pivot Point Cares for KidsTM.

"Our students will be providing a full range of services from hair styling, hair and scalp treatments, color services, facials, body wraps, makeup application and nail services.

Also throughout the day, special discounts will be available on select hair, skin and other beauty-related products. Other cosmetology schools will be joining our nationwide effort by sponsoring their own events."

"As a family-owned business, we first became interested in NCMEC nearly 10 years ago when we decided to use our resources to help the center in its mission of teaching children ways to stay safe. Since then we have helped raise more than $600,000," Passage points out.

"Over the last several years, the center also has focused its attention on online safety because the Internet has become a vehicle for exploitation of minors.

One in five girls and one in ten boys will be sexually exploited by the time they reach adulthood. In addition, one in seven kids will receive sexual solicitations online.

The center remains the nation's preeminent resource for recovering missing children. Since its establishment in 1984, the center has assisted law enforcement agencies with more than 127,700 missing child cases, resulting in the recovery of more than 110,200 children," she says.

Daily Hair Tip
For a low maintenance style, try to work with your natural hair type rather than against it. For example, if your hair is naturally wavy, select a hairstyle that works easily with the waves.
