What happened when Grapefruit, Sandalwood, Saffron and Licorice were combined with Enrique Iglesias True Star inspiration?
A fragrance masterpiece which truly eclipsed Love Potion No.9.
Tommy Hilfiger and the amazing fragrance masterminds at Aramis created the team which turned out the amazing Enrique Iglesias True Star fragrance.
The True Star fragrance opens with notes of pink grapefruit-an invigorating scent which the Aramis executives designed to be addictive.
The musky quality of sandalwood, licorice and saffron were added to the pink grapefruit in order to amp up the scents' seductive side.
Tommy, Enrique and Aramis hoped the musky quality would drive women wild!
The fragrance makers also added hints of comforting vanilla to the masculine scents of sandalwood and licorice because women historically love vanilla.
Once Tommy and the Aramis development team felt they had a winning plan to create a fabulous aroma, they needed the right personality to help launch the fragrance.
Tommy chose music superstar Enrique Iglesias to be the hot star as the face of the male cologne with the deliciously sexy new scent.
Enrique, who Tommy met three years ago, immediately came to mind. "He's talented, he's cool, he's relaxed and he's handsome," says Tommy.
Also, the famous musician with super hot girlfriend, tennis hottie Anna Kournikova, was the perfect inspiration for the True Star fragrance.
Tommy felt Enrique with his down-to-earth yet sophisticated personality was the perfect combo of characteristics which traditionally drive women wild.
The designer saw how quickly fans took to Beyoncé as the face of women's True Star and felt the selection of Enrique was a perfect casting.
Tommy Hilfiger worked very closely with Aramis' Raymond Matts and Enrique Iglesias to sample scents until they found exactly the correct aroma.
Through the process of developing True Star Men took four years and lots of patience, Matts reported Enrique handled it like a natural.
Matts said "he (Enrique) treated scents like chords on a guitar, rearranging them until he found the perfect combo of notes."
The Aramis executive referred to the True Star fragrance as a "liquid emotion".
Along with Tommy Hilfiger, he is confident the scent will be as appealing as Enrique's music and sexy good looks.
True Star Men, which hit department stores and retail outlets in the Fall of 2005 was an instant hit. It was no surprise. The fragrance has been deemed a huge hit.
Of course Enrique has sold more than 40 million albums worldwide. The combination of the amazing fragrance with the sexy Enrique gave it all the markings of what could be the hottest-selling men's fragrance in history.Enrique Iglesias
