Rochelle Bloom was appointed President of The Fragrance Foundation in January 2003 and, as an industry insider, has since brought experience, energy and strategic thinking in support of the world of fragrance to the organization.

While instituting innovative programs that benefit the fragrance industry members, she has also focused the same energy to enhance consumer outreach efforts to generate awareness of the pleasures and enjoyment of fragrance.

Mrs. Bloom’s extensive knowledge of the industry, the key players, her marketing savvy and the high regard in which she is held by all who work with her has been gained through a stellar career path as an executive in some of the world’s most prestigious cosmetics and fragrance companies.

Since taking on this responsibility, she has created new programs and activities to enrich the Foundation’s services and benefits both here in the U.S. as well as harnessing her International experience to expand the Foundation globally.

Mrs. Bloom started her career in beauty when she joined The Estée Lauder companies, Inc. as Marketing Director for Estée Lauder Canada. From then on her career spanned the company’s premier brands in both domestic and international markets. She returned to the U.S. as Director of Advertising and Sales Promotion for Clinique International after two years.

She rejoined the Estée Lauder International brand as Field Marketing Director for Latin America, Far East, and selected European markets, where she led the explosive growth in those markets. As Vice President/General Manager, she launched the Prescriptives International line, building it into a major cosmetics brand.

After seven years in that position, Mrs. Bloom was named Senior Vice President/General Manager of Estée Lauder International, a position she held for thirteen years. In this position she directed all activities of the Estée Lauder brand, outside of the U.S. and Canada, to ensure sales growth and profitability were consistent with division goals. Most importantly, she was responsible for promoting and protecting the brand equity to maintain a “one world image.”

In 1999, Mrs. Bloom assumed the position of Executive Vice President, Estée Lauder International, Inc. with primary responsibility for the Asia Pacific Region where her responsibilities covered the management of eleven brands marketed in that region. She became President of Bobbi Brown Professional Cosmetics in February 2000.

Prior to joining the Estée Lauder Companies, Mrs. Bloom worked in advertising and retailing. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Syracuse University and completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School and is past Vice President of their Alumni Board.

In addition to being active in many charitable organizations, Mrs. Bloom serves as an advisory board member of the Fashion Institute of Technology Master’s Degree Program, where she taught Management and Leadership for three years, and The Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising. She belongs to The Fashion Group International and Cosmetic Executive Women and is a past board member of both organizations. She is currently a member and past board member of The Women’s Forum and is an advisory board member of The Harper’s BAZAAR Anticounterfeiting Alliance.
