Introduction - Dakota Fanning Pink Hair

The Mail Online recently published a photo of the normally blonde Dakota Fanning showcasing her latest pink dip dyed hair as she strolled around New York City's Soho neighborhood.

Her layered outfit brilliantly contrasted with her blonde and pink strands, making them appear to pop as they streamed out from her striped blue knit hat.

This isn't the first time the Twilight Star has opted for pink highlighted strands.   She previously dip-dyed her blonde hair in January 2012, also opting for a vibrant shade of pink.

Dakota Fanning Pink Hair - Taking Liberties With Hair Hues

Dakota has been taking lots of liberties with her hair hues.  Besides her pink dip dyed tresses, she shocked fans and the media when she appeared at the November 2012 Premiere of Twilight - Breaking Dawn - Part 2 in chocolate brown tresses.  Initially many people didn't recognize the traditionally light blonde star.  Is the normally good girl in a rebellious hair period?

The media thought Dakota was being rebellious when she appeared in 2011 with a supershort pixie hair cut.  It turned out that Dakota was wearing a supershort pixie wig for a movie role.

The 19 year old actress, born February 23, 1994, has grown up in front of her fans.   She won many fans with her heart stopping portrayal of Lucy Diamond Dawson in the 2001 film I Am Sam.

She often seems many years older than her biological age.   Maybe because she's been in the public eye since she was very young.  Dakota has been quoted as saying  “I remember when I was six, I thought to myself: ‘I could do this acting thing forever’”

The actress who is still in college at NYU, is currently busy filming The Last of Robin Hood alongside Susan Sarandon and Kevin Kline.  In the film that captures the last days in life of the legendary actor Errol Flynn, Dakota is set to star as Beverly Aadland, Errol's teen mistress.

Dakota isn't swayed by anyone's opinion when it comes to selecting her rotating hair colors.  Even though the dip dyed hair color trend has lost a lot of it's popularity, the actress obviously doesn't care.   Obviously she marches to the beat of her own drummer.

She told Elle UK "You can’t worry about what other people think"  the 19-year-old  student told Elle UK.

Although it's easy to create the dip dyed hair color look with clip-in extensions, it appears Dakota actually has colored her strands with demi or permanent hair color.

Dakota shared a lot of her personal favorites with Allure Magazine in 2011.

She confessed to skipping lipstick preferring instead to use Smith's Rosebud Salve.  It's no surprise the actress, whose current home base is in California, selected NYU for college.   Dakota confessed to Allure that New York was her favorite city.

The actress loves Minnie Mouse, Batman and Marie Antoinette.  Her favorite gadget is her iPhone and anything her grandmother makes.  However, when it comes to fast food she love Panda Express and probably never turns down a Coke.

Dakota also won fans as Young Melanie in 2002's Sweet Home Alabama.   A year later she was the spunky Lorraine "Ray" Schleine in Uptown Girls.

Summary - Dakota Fanning Pink Hair

In 2005 Dakota was spectacular as Rachel Ferrier in The War Of The Worlds.  In 2008 she was Lily Owens in well-received The Secret Life of Bees.  2010 was a big year for Dakota.  She played Cherie Currie in The Runaways and was Jane Volturi in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.

Even though Dakota filmed four films in 2012, the fans were most interested in her repeat performance as Jane Volturi in The Twilight Saga:  Breaking Dawn - Part 2.

Although Dakota has to wear many different hairstyles for her various film roles, her off-screen hair color and styles have become noteworthy over the past two years.
