Biography

Sarah Michelle Gellar Prinze was born on April 14, 1977 in New York, New York. She was an only child.  Her nickname is Sassy. Her natural haircolor is brunette but she dyed it blonde for her major role as Buffy in Buffy The Vampire Slayer (BTVS).  Originally producers believes she should play Cordelia but she campaigned for Buffy and ultimately won the role and beat other many other actresses.

BTVS was shot in LA.  Sarah Michelle Geller told the media (in response to BTVS's hip reputation - as reported by US Weekly in 2000 - "It's very hard to be a show in LA and be trend setting, because the fashions are in New York.  ...Not to mention that most actresses are all, give or take, the same size - between five two and five-five and 95 to 125 pounds. 

Although she has appeared in many different mediums including commercials, soap operas, movies and TV roles, she is best known as Buffy Summers in Buffy.  She appeared in 145 episodes from 1997-2003.  The show attained cult status.

She won an Emmy for her role as Kendall Hart Lang  for 21 episodes, 1993-1995, on All My Children.  It was rumored that Sarah Michelle left the role due to a conflict with Erica Kane played by Susan Lucci.  This rumor was never confirmed by either star. 

Sarah Michelle had one guest appearance on HBO's Sex And The City.  She also was a fan favorite in The Grudge and Grudge 2.
