Lake Bell was born on March 24, 1979 in New York City, New York.  The 5'8" actress is a graduate of Rose Bruford College of Speech and Drama in London, England.  She spent time during her teens living on Vero Beach in Florida. 

Although Lake had a few parts in 2001 and 2002 on TV's long running ER drama, she did not hit the radar until she started playing the part of Sally Heep in TV's fan favorite - The Practice in 2002. 

She then nabbed a more significant part on TV's Miss Match as Victoria starring Alicia Silverstone from 2003 - 2005.  After the show was cancelled due to poor ratings, she went on to star in TV's scifi drama Surface as a main character hunting the existence of prehistoric sea monstors as Dr. Laura Daughtery.  Sadly the show did not survive. 

After Surface ended she went on to reprise the role of Sally Heep on Boston Legal which she played for 14 episodes.  She continues to act in films and is well known for her very long hairstyles.
