Actress Teri Lynn Hatcher was born in Palo Alto, California on December 8, 1964. She was raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. The 5'6" actress began studying acting at the American Conservatory Theater while pursuing an undergraduate degree in mathematics and engineering.
Although she was planning to transfer to California Polytechnic Institute, Teri make a brief detour and attended an open casting call as a favor to a friend who needed moral support. Teri wound up in Hollywood.
As a result of her attendance at the casting call she won the part of the singing and dancing mermaid for the television series, "The Love Boat" (1977).
She went on to play Penny Parker, a ditsy but sweet-hearted struggling actress in "MacGyver" (1985). Fans ultimately fell in love with Teri as the smart savvy Lois in "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman" (1993). She became famous as Lois Lane on Superman which also was a departure from previous roles as an "airhead".
After Superman ended her acting career hit a lull and she all but disappeared. She won a role on the top rated Desperate Housewives as the ditzy Susan and fans fell in love with Teri all over again. Her career exploded for the second time and her fans are happy to have her back in the spotlight.
