Jamie-Lynn Marie Spears was born April 4, 1991 (Aries) in McComb, Mississippi (right on the Louisiana border) as the third child of Lynne, a grade school teacher and Jamie Spears, a builder.  Her older sister was Britney Spears and she has an older brother, Bryan.

Although she was born in McComb, Mississippi, while she was still very young (only a few months old) she traveled with her mother to New York to help with the development of big sister Britney's career.

Jamie-Lynn  who is 5'5 1/2" currently lives in Kentwood, LA, with her mom, Lynne Spears.  Her dad, Jamie Spears lives nearby.  Her parents are legally divorced.

Jamie-Lynn is best known for starring in the Nickelodeon television series Zoey 101.

Jamie Lynn appeared in 2001's Total Britney Live and in a Pepsi commercial in 2002. In the same year, she appeared briefly in the movie Crossroads, as the younger version of the main character, Lucy, who was played by her older sister. 

For two seasons, Jamie-Lynn was a cast member on the Nickelodeon comedy-variety show: All That. Because it was a variety show she had to play many different characters, including her original character Thelma Stump, an 84-year-old bodyguard who Jamie-Lynn portrayed in her audition for the program.

She also did many On-Air Dares (a Nickelodeon version of Fear Factor) skits where she and other All That cast members had to do many "disgusting acts."

She eventually left All That to star in Zoey 101.  Jamie-Lynn garnered her first starring role as Zoey Brooks in the Emmy-nominated Nickelodeon television show, Zoey 101.

When the show debuted in January 2005, it drew a larger number of viewers aged 9-14 than any premiere on the network in the preceding eight years.

Jamie-Lynn stars as one of the first girls to pass admissions for a formerly all-boy boarding school, called Pacific Coast Academy. Zoey 101 was nominated for a 2005 Emmy for Outstanding Children's Program. In 2006, Jamie-Lynn won a Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards blimp for Favorite TV actress.

Jamie-Lynn also sings the theme song for the show, which was co-written by Emily Bob and her older sister Britney, entitled "Follow Me."

While there have been reports that Zoey 101 has been canceled, because of Jamie's controversial teen pregnancy, a spokesperson for Nickelodeon has told MTV News that there is no truth to those rumors and the show remains on their schedule.

Her nickname is J Lynn.  It has been reported that Jamie-Lynne has always been a performer, like her big sister, Britney. She takes gymnastics and dance and sings.

Her family has been very vocal about their belief that she will be a big star one day.  The Spears family as well as Jamie-Lynn has said they know she has what it takes to be the next big thing.

Jamie-Lynn's teen pregnancy, announced while she was still 16 years old has definitely made her a media target and her drama over her unborn baby has been a popular tabloid target. 

The announcement of Jamie-Lynn's pregnancy brought into question the entire Spears family in light of Britney's very public struggles with drugs, alcohol and parenting to her two young sons.  A book by Lynn Spears was cancelled since the topic was scheduled to be her role as a parent to Britney and Jamie-Lynn

When she was growing up in Mississippi she played on her junior high softball team. She took gymnastics after school, which sister Britney also did as a child.

Her favorite shoes are Puma, Birkenstock, and flip-flops.  Her favorite stores are Abercrombie and Fitch, Limited Too, GAP, Guess, Hollister, Juicy, and Joomi Joolz.

She loves dogs and it has been reported she has three rottweilers named Cane, Spotty, and Sebastian; a teacup poodle named Lady; a german shepherd; two shizu terriers named Mitzi and Bitzi; a pomeranian named Izzy; and a few guard dogs.  When she was in school her favorite subjects were English and Social Studies.

Jamie-Lynn Spears spent the summer of 2004 in California filming the first season of "Zoey 101" (2005). A friend from home, Leigha, spent the summer with her.

Collects porcelain dolls and suffers from asthma but only in moderation.

Her nephews include Jayden James Federline, born 12 September 2006 and nephew Sean Preston Federline, born 14 September 2005.

Jamie-Lynn and fiancé Casey Aldridge, welcomed their daughter, Maddie Briann Aldridge, on June 19, 2008, weighing 7 lbs, 11 oz, at the Mississippi Southwest Regional Medical Center.
