Biography

Emily Mallory Procter is a true born and bred.  She was born October 8, 1968 in Raleigh, North Carolina. She is a graduate of Ravenscroft School in Raleigh.

While at East Carolina University she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority. After she received her degrees in journalism and dance at East Carolina, she was employed as a television weather anchor at WNCT-TV in Greenville, North Carolina.

After the move to Los Angeles, her father provided the costs for acting school for two years. Before even graduating, she had already landed a number of small roles in films such as Jerry Maguire (1996) and Breast Men (1997), where she appeared along with David Schwimmer and Chris Cooper. During the 1995–96 season (season 3) of Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, she portrayed Lana Lang the first blond actress to ever do so. She also briefly appeared in the 1997 TV movie The Dukes of Hazzard: Reunion! as Mavis.

She also had a recurring guest role as Associate White House Counsel Ainsley Hayes on NBC's The West Wing.

She landed her breakthrough with the role of Calleigh Duquesne in the television series CSI: Miami, which has been running on American television since 2002. She took the role after consulting with her friend Jorja Fox who was an actress on the set of the original CSI (Las Vegas).

She participated in 2007's LiveEarth by reading (along with several other actresses) an essay written by Michelle Gardner-Quinn while Gardner-Quinn was a student at the University of Vermont.

Emily Procter has helped to make "C.S.I.: Miami" a top ten staple for CBS. She combines her innate talent, beauty and Southern charm into her role as Detective Calleigh Duquesne.

Though investigating crimes scenes may not be as cutthroat an environment as the White House, audiences also know Emily as attorney Ainsley Hayes who she portrayed on the Emmy and Golden Globe-winning "The West Wing" for two seasons.

Emily's earlier big screen credits include "Leaving Las Vegas" with Nicolas Cage, "Jerry Maguire" with Tom Cruise and, more recently, opposite Martin Lawrence in "Big Momma's House."

During her recent hiatus, she also had a cameo appearance opposite Patrick Wilson in the comedy film "Barry Munday." When not filming, Emily enjoys interior decorating and working with various charities for the homeless.

Emily is known for her stunning long blonde hair which she has changed up during her tenure on CSI.  Emily has gone from wearing her buttery blonde tresses stick straight and down to her waist to a more texturized style that is shoulder length.

Daily Hair Tip
If you lie on your back while you sleep this could cause hair stress leading to split ends in the back. To avoid hair stress tie hair back using a soft scrunchie band.
